The suns get completely obliterated in that deal. No chance.

The Pelicans have also been linked to Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love, though they have not made contact with the Cavs, sources told Amico Hoops.

On a scale of 1-100, that trade is a negative 5 for Phoenix.

I remember something coming out earlier in the year that the Suns were giving up on Josh Jackson. He supposedly has terrible work ethic.
I know the Suns wanted to get Love before, and they need a replacement for the terrible Ryno deal. I'm sure they'd love to get Niko and unload Ryno.
Cavs get a top 10 pick in Jackson for taking on Ryno's contract, and get a 1st from us for sending out Love.
Suns get that stretch 4 they been looking for, and move the terrible Ryno contract as well. They might need to get some more compensation in that made up deal I just made.
I think Phoenix thinks they can be a playoff team next year if they make the right moves. They are done with their rebuild and are ready to start moving forward next year.

If they think they are a playoff team, why would they give up their 2nd best player and a prospect who is finally starting to come on for Niko, who could leave them?
It is a solid B or better trade for the Pels and the Cavs, but I am not exaggerating when I say its an F for the Suns

I would prefer to keep Niko in that scenario, let Phoenix have Love.. Switch it to:
NOP: TJ Warren
Cavs: Anderson, Wes J, Clark, Pels 1st
Phoenix: Love
I would much rather something in this mold

Giving up Warren is where they need to get compensated more for, I agree.
But Jackson isn't finaly starting to come on.
This is from December:
Just google Josh Jackson and some of the first headlines you'll see are "5 players the suns should have taken instead of Josh Jackson" and "Josh Jackson needs to quit shooting"
This is from a week ago talking about how terrible he is LINK

The difference between the two shows in their on- and off-court numbers. Bridges has been a plus-minus machine as a rookie. The Suns are in the red (minus-2.0 in net rating) in Bridges’s 525 minutes on the floor, but their performance has been catastrophic in the 632 minutes he’s spent off it (minus-17.0). Jackson has had the opposite effect. Phoenix has a net rating of minus-13.6 in 485 minutes with him and minus-8.2 in 672 minutes without him. They have each played at least 100 minutes with eight different players this season, not counting the other. All eight have better net ratings with Bridges than Jackson. Bridges is making his teammates better. Jackson is making them worse.

Warren is Randle with better (though possibly fluky) shooting. When he gets the ball, he's shooting it. No point in having both on the same team. I wouldn't mind the trade if Randle and Solo were going elsewhere in another deal

I havent seen much of Warren (who wants to watch the Suns right?), I thought he was more of a spot up 3&D type though...
I would take Josh Jackson in the deal, kid is only 21 and still has alot of room to grow, and has a competitive spirit

Otto Porter.
Dream big.
Payton
Jrue
Porter
Warren
AD
that's a hell of a defensive lineup. Even with Niko in there for Payton that's a great defensive lineup.
AD has always played better with the small ball lineups.

Give me DJ and Ross for Hill Johnson and a protected 1st

Not really, he’s a more of a pure scorer who’s expanded his range.TJ Warren could fit in, but he hasn’t been playing on a good team, that integration can take time.

Jackson has so far been one of the worst, if not the worst, regular rotation players in the league. He actively makes the suns worse
who knows if he will ever get better but right now he is terri-bad

So whats the logic behind Ross and a first? If we don't resign him we have 20+M avail for star next year if Solo and wesley is in the package?

It seems clear now that Dell is keeping his powder dry and trying to swing a big deal at the deadline (think Beal or Barnes).
I'm increasingly enamored of the incremental deal, one that gives us a starting level SF and a back up PG.
It would be great if you could swing that in a two-team deal, but getting the right combo might require a third team. The only single team duo I can think of that would work would be Bazemore/Lind from the Hawks for a protected 1st + contracts from us.
Someone posted earlier that the Bucks were interested in moving Brogdon in a deal that includes Randle. I love Brogdon for us (a big PG who can shoot and run an offense). Maybe we could do a deal that included Snell. Not ideal but serviceable at SF though his contract may be a problem.
In general, I think trying to swing for the fences to get a star who will appease Davis and, perhaps, keep him in the fold, is not the correct strategy. This team needs depth and a more balanced roster. Focus on that and hopefully winning is what will keep Davis around.

you are not getting the Andrew Jackson statue removed.

We wouldnt send Niko out in a trade for Love
I don’t think it would make the Pels all that much better, but again ship Randle to Milwaukee for their young Brogdon
Brogdon, Maker, Pels 1st, Hill, Wes, (salary filler, if necessary) to Cavs
Randle to Milwaukee
Love to Pels
You’re still horrible on the wings but have two stretch 4s who have experience playing the 5 next to AD
I’m not a big fan of it — too much money tied into the frontcourt — but just trying to figure out how Love would fit
Maybe you can get Rodney Hood thrown in
Payton
Jrue
Hood
AD
Love
With Frank, Niko and E’Twaun coming off the bench
