More info, please. What is the number of cattle that rely on the rio grande (the portion that borders Mexico) for their water? Be specific.
are you asking about stocking rates for the entire state of Texas along the border? It varies. significantly, dependent upon the terrain and such.

The property we had out there was pretty typical of far west Texas, and as I recall we had about three or four head per section in those pastors. If I recall the pastor that was directly adjacent to the border was about 10 or 15 sections.

Frim about Del Rio diwnnto the Valley, the stocking rates are generally higher.

No, the river is not the only source of water. Most pastures have a couple of windmills, but you can’t rely entirely upon them as your only water source. Likewise, most pastures have surface ponds, but they dry up pretty badly in the summer.

there you go again:

it was 17 Senate and House members who represent Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.. . .that eight was from the peanut gallery.

And the reason: is because this report - 'Border lawmakers spurn Trump’s wall proposal' fit topic at hand (what me and the other guy was discussing) The maj (dud) jumped in as if he had something constructive to offer (de nada) ... do you?

Fantastic. I’ll gladly take a rough estimate and what you base that upon.

Again. Why do you think what these people think is relevant beyond their votes counting the same as any other Congress person ?

There are two kinds of technical.problems.

The rio grande borders tex Mex for what? 700 miles?
Are you really going to wall a river that floods?
I don't believe it could be done for 25 billion. Plus it would force the entire flood onto Mexican.lands.

How do animals travel in habitat?

Because we are not discussing why we build the wall.

We are currently hashing out: How does the board feel about the possibility of the Govt talking peoples land through eminent domain.

So I guess what these people think is sort of important?

Why? The lawmakers opinions aren’t any more important than anyone else when it comes to eminent domain. I understand why you want to assign them some great importance, but in reality, their opinions are no more relevant than any other lawmakers.

You keep using “section” which is 640 acres in land terms... then you said one to two head per section...

Pasture not pastor...

What they think about it might be pertinent if they were not toeing the party line... this surprises you? I bet I can find an article where lawmakers are against gun control...

well i think it is needed at some point...... Like the BR loop.

and the land owners dont need the 20' strip at the border. the US is doing them a service with a property tax reduction.

Probably a good example of how limited it is.

I am not sure I understand your point. If I used Pastor rather than pasture, it is because I am dictating. I’m actually feeding cubes at the moment.

In far west Texas, ranchers talk about sections, rather than acres. A couple of acres is utterly useless out there. Our horse trap was about half a section.

Yes, some of the roughest country out there is stocked as low as 1, 2 or three head per section. Especially down near the river, where it is really mountainous with big gullies and ravines, and lots of catclaw and Mesquite.

Really? Nancy Pelosi could have it open tomorrow if a bill passed with wall funding... that is the only concession Trump has asked for.... if the wall cannot be built, seems stupid not to offer it up....

gracias.

Unlike most here, I'm admittedly for a unified government over Mexico, run by the Usa majority.

parliamentary form.

And we have to get out of wto.
I gather we have used its courts well but even so...

Ok, thanks for the clarification... but if a section of land only supports 2 to 3 head of cattle it is shitty land... what does that kind of land go for an acre in todays market? Or by section and I’ll do the math..
