I’m a big picture guy... I mean, kinda hard to argue with. The season was a success. The offensive coaching is mediocre. Much room for improvement.

It's hard not to consider finishing a season ranked in the top 10 a success when you started the season as a fringe top 25 team.

The only way a #6 finish could be a disappointment is if you started out in the top 5.

A lot of respect for LSU from the committee to put us above Florida

Close...needed the A&M win.

It was a decent season...just short of a successful season.

This is the final AP poll, not the College Football Playoff Committee but the committee did show LSU respect this year b/c of its murder row schedule.

Or just post your comment in one of the other 5 threads going right now, and not start a topic for every thought that pops up in your head.

LSU finished ranked 6 in country. Season was a success. Period. I’m not an O homer.

Nor am I. If we both knew that simply repeating things wouldn't make them true, we'd be even more alike.

Losing 3 games, 2 of which we had no business losing, is not a success to me. If it is to you, that's okay. Hopefully next season is better for us all.

The season was an improvement.

Hard to call it a success when we didn't hit a single team goal. Didn't win the NC, didn't make the playoffs, didn't win the conference, and didn't win the division.

ETA - I'm pretty sure Orgeron would say the same thing.

I am happy to inform you that no cares what you think. Season was better than expectations and that equals success

That's nice. I'm pretty sure the players would say otherwise, but sure, let's call it a success.

Expectations are a sliding metric. Some people expected 6 wins and some people think our basement is 10 wins.

What difference would the A&M win have made?

We would’ve gone to the same bowl game

That is damn good coming out of the SEC West.

Consider the fact that Clemson finished with zero regular season wins over a final AP Top 10 team, and only one regular season win over a final AP Top 25 team -- a four point win over Syracuse. That was a very favorable schedule in hindsight, and arguably in foresight, as well. Must be nice.
