King cakes are disgusting - change my mind

If I wanted a dry cinnamon roll I’d just keep it in the oven longer and skip the frosting. Don’t try to convince me I just haven’t had one from the right place because I’ve tried them from just about everywhere, since the wife’s family is from NOLA and go crazy over all things Mardi Gras every year (yay for me) and they’re all gross.
King cakes are probably my least favorite thing about Mardi Gras and that’s saying a lot because I hate the holiday and everything that goes with it.

I don't find them gross but I don't think there is anything inherently special about them as far as pure taste goes
