Are we going to just ignore how much rain we’ve been getting?

Seems we’ve received way more rain than normal since July then starting in November we’ve had decent rain events 2/3 of the time. The ground is so saturated and I’m fearful of what the spring will bring.

No kidding, it's been nuts. Luckily the models are showing clear skies for about two straight weeks after today's front.

ETA: from weather.com

quote:

2. Soaked South Will See a Dry Break

Southerners endured a multi-week stretch of excessive rainfall in December, including five separate heavy rain events. For many, it was one of the wettest Decembers on record.

After one more dose of heavy rain to end this week, it appears brighter skies could be on the horizon for parts of the region.

High pressure will move in this weekend, bringing welcome sunshine to many cities.

A cold front could bring increasing clouds and a chance of showers early next week. The good news is that this system should be quick, preventing long-lasting rain in any one location. This front may be somewhat moisture-starved, which means some cities may not see any rain at all.

Another high-pressure system could once again allow dry conditions to return to the South after this front, though it's too early to be certain how many dry days that may include.

That is, quite literally, the truth.
It has been, at the very least, 10 or more days without clouds/mist/rain/fog.

I just want a month of no rain and dry air. Things need to dry out a lot right now in preparation for the spring.

After today it looks as if we will have a break for a little while, but we have gotten our fair share of rain there is no doubt about that.

my lab is struggling to take a shite lately having to walk through slop grass.

i haven't been able to advance my 7 yr old son's travel baseball career or my 9 year old daughters travel softball career in like a month and a half.

I need it to stop soon. Anymore and I will have to re-sod my yard. The whole thing has turned into a big swampy mess.

My back yard is destroyed. My dog only wants to dig while it is raining, and only at night, for some reason. And since it's rained nearly every day since September, my yard is oversaturated. Same thing is happening to people in my HOA. Their yards are oversaturated. Someone called a landscape contractor and they told them it's because our yards are clay, not sandy silt, so they don't drain properly and it will cost around $5k to regrade and fix the yard.

it has been the same here in central AL. On a positive note, it hasn't been ice cold this winter (at least not yet)

Mine is a mix of swamp and muddy pot holes from my dog. I feel your pain.

Holy frick. I think I am going to find some dirt or sand somewhere and try to level. Then re-sod

We had the 2nd wettest year on record in Dallas for 2017 and have gotten 1.5" in January. But we may go 4 or 5 months this summer with no rain.
