It starts up front. Like this year this team will go as far as the OL carries him. That being said we can't afford another zero in points to Bama and we need more deep passes with accuracy and an actual deep threat at WR. 9-3 or worse than definite changes will have to be made on offense.

We are positioned to do,that. We have some big leaps to make. But we are back to close to parity with Bama.

Prove me wrong.

LSU beat a 2-10 Arkansas team by 7. That team had a HC in his first year of Arkansas and played two different QBs. That Arkansas team got blown out by North Texas.

LSU lost to first year Mullen at UF by 8. They return almost that entire offense including QB Franks (2800 yards 31 TDs), and a 3 headed rushing attack. They return the entire secondary that finished 13th in the country in pass defense.

LSU lost to Bama...by 29...AT HOME! Bama returns almost everybody on offense and the defense just reloads. Wash, rinse, repeat.

LSU replaces sorry arse Miami with a Texas team that could win 10+ games for the first time since 2009, and who has already won more games (9) than it has in its last 6 years (4 of those years with 6 wins or less). Sam Ehlinger also blew up like Franks, passing for 3130 25 TDs 5 ints, and rushing for 420 and 13 TDs.

First year Jimbo just beat LSU and now picked up a HUGE class in quantity and quality. Just like Franks and Ehlinger, Mond will blow up as well.

As LSU improves, so do others. We need VAST improvements, but we aren't going to get it with this lame coaching staff outside of Aranda and Raymond.

Its astonishing that other cant see our offensive woes are schematically driven after watching other teams attack an opponents weaknesses.

Things change. What happened this year means nothing for next year. New game, new year no matter who the opponent is.

So why would it be a coin flip between Bama and LSU when it hasn't been under a double digit game since 2014? O said "we're not close" concerning competing for a W with Bama. That's our head coach saying that, not just me.

we do have the most talented roster returning in the SEC, including the best D and a Heisman quality QB

We will be favored in every game except maybe the Bama game and that will be a coin flip

Bama will destroy LSU, Florida probably will beat us, a&m now a toss up, and we always lose at least 1 we shouldn’t

I also laugh the people expect us to go to Austin and beat Texas at their house. Next year is Texas's championship run.

We'll regret not giving Herman what he wanted and we'll regret not going after Briles or Yurcich this off-season.

Our schedule is favorable

Competent use to be ok now you need play makers at QB. Joe is decent but limits our offense. We will need a lot of improvement on the OL.

We are losing major players on defense and are going to lack depth on the defensive line most likely.

I'm not predicting CFP, but depth on the dline will not be a problem at all. We have:

Neil Farrell
Glen Logan
Tyler Shelvin
Breiden Fehoko
Davin Cotton
Nelson Jenkins
Dominic Livingston

And possibly Rashard Lawrence

This does not include Justin Thomas, Ika, or Joe Evans (who might, or might not, be good enough for the two deep.)
This is lots of depth considering they only need to man three positions (and often only two). Now, I could see an argument that we don't have front line superstars.
