The Scalia Funeral

Ok, so its been almost three years since Justice Scalia left us. And now with two recent state funerals since then (McCain,Bush), it is worth noting how little coverage a SITTING Supreme Court Justice received given his decades of tenure. In fact, I think more attention was given to Obama and who he would pick to replace Scalia in the days following his death. No platitudes from the Left, as I recall.
The man was a pure genius and lion of the Court.
Expect RBG funeral to go whole hog. It’ll put Scalia’s (who had been on the court for 10 yrs before Ginsburg) to shame.

They needed his death to go away as soon as possible because they knew he was murdered.

Going full Wellstone or McCain will backfire horribly.
Frankly, it would be similar to holding a wake for the Dems’ influence on the highest court.

Scalia was an active thorn in their side until the day he died. Unfortunately, there is very little appetite in Washington, on either side, for objective human decency untainted by any political lens. So, yes, RBG will likely be treated far differently in death than Scalia was.
Hell, I often get shite from colleagues when I say that I disagree with Alito often, but he might be the most brilliant jurist of our generation. It's just the way things are at this point.

Now you're crying about how the left didn't honor Scalia adequately? Why is it the job of the left to celebrate all the stalwarts on the right? You look like you're just sitting there complaining that someone else didn't do your job for you. I guess I'm just not understanding the point of your thread.

Is this an admission that the Media is an arm of the left?

It's interesting that the right didn't use his funeral as some kind of 'Wellstone' moment. The left never seems to miss an opportunity to use the death of one of their elite as an opportunity to score political points. It's disgusting.

What I’m pointing out is all of this recent deification is completely Trump bashing.
In February 2016, DJT was just a primary candidate & hence no reason to go overboard.
That and Republicans didn’t do the same to spite Obama.

The media exist in our free market. Are you admitting that there's greater demand in the market for a liberal press? Why does the right depend on a liberal media to get their message out anyway?
But the real question is, why do YOU consume liberal MSM products and services in the marketplace?

Pure cognitive dissonance.

1. It’s unavoiable nowadays
2. It’s good to see what other viewpoints are to keep your worldview balanced.
Don’t sit all day in a Fox News echochamber.

This would have more impact if it weren't in a thread crying about how unfair the "other viewpoints" are.
As long as you consume a product, you're partially responsible for the demand in the market place for that product. As long as there is demand, there will be supply.

It's almost as if the MSM is biased against one particular political party.

Talk about your manufactured outrage. There was wall to wall coverage on CNN for Scalia. The whole thing was televised over two days.
It wasn't as big as a Presidential funeral - nor should it be. What percentage of adult Americans could name Scalia as a Supreme or could pick him out of a lineup? It's sad - I agree. But the coverage was fine.

Woke up this morning, couldn’t think of anything to be angry about?

Of course, the Dems will say that President Trump can't nominate a new justice in a decade where there is an election.

:attempts to troll by being willfully obtuse:
:accidentally admits he knows the media is an extension of the Democratic party:
fricking idiot.

i expect she will be treated to a stalin like funeral where she is put in a glass box for viewing to be worshiped by liberals for weeks and then displayed like some Egyptian pharaoh for months before finally being put in the ground somewhere.
irony is they could do that today and no one could even tell she was still alive
