when Trump wanted to bring in troops to help protect the boarder liberals screamed about it. saying that the troops would miss Christmas with their families. now that he wants to bring troops home from a war they are screaming to leave them there. those people are really screwed up in the head.

It's enough to make one wonder just how anti-war the anti-war liberals really are

If you can't understand the rationale for deposing Assad in the context of the Israeli/Syrian conflict, then you may be on the wrong board.

I didn't say President Trump was doing it "to counter-attack the next upcoming invasion of ISIS".

I said he was doing it to piss off the remaining ISIS members that are still in Syria into attacking us to prove they haven't been defeated so we can wipe those assholes off the planet.

Yeah, and the next day you'll finally capture that sea monster you've been chasing.

Good times in Dreamland...

Ahh yes, but I will admit that I didn’t have the insight that you must have on that long war’s geopolitical impact....

I guess it was so important that we had to encourage the overthrow of a fairly stable Assad regime- a secular regime at that- and allow a new breeding ground of terrorist To thrive.

Listen Syria is of zero importance to the USA...they produce less oil than the Ivory Coast...

Now, sir, enlighten me as to why I should give a squirt of piss to Syria?

So creating complete chaos in a region that leads to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, the destruction of major cities, and a massive refugee/human displacement across multiple continents is a superior choice to two states coming into light conflict every now and then?

Why do you think it's a superior choice?

Or do you not understand the difference between understanding something and agreeing with it? Can you point out the value judgment in my post?

You do realize that what you're saying is:

Seriously? What are you, 12?

Syria has represented the most immediate threat to the State of Israel since Israel was recognized by Jordan and Egypt.

"Muh, oil..."

Maybe you haven't noticed, but Syria is of MAJOR importance to Israel, and apparently Israel is of major importance to the US, therefore...

I can't believe there are so many ignorant fricks on here that have to have all this spelled out for them.

Maybe you've never heard of AIPAC, but you should familiarize yourself with who they are and how they influence our government. Then maybe you too can "understand the rationale for getting rid of Assad in the first place."

I'm saying the reasoning behind the decision is extremely irresponsible and I'm also skeptical that that was the real reason behind the decision. Obama wanted to be known as part of the movement to bring some sort of new utopia to the ME and when he saw the EU getting in on his glory, he turned into a hawk because he didn't want to be left out in case it worked. Of course, it all predictably turned into shite as it always does with maybe the exception of Egypt.

Right.

Don't care about Syria, Iraq or Afghanistan either

Time to pull back, end foreign aid and allow the strong to survive, the weak to fail
