Aquaman is 80% green screen and was way more impressive than Black Panther.

But 90% of the replies are about Black Panther and it'll be similar in the Makeup & Hairstyle Oscar thread.

How is that crying?

The movie is historically terrible with effects.

It's ridiculous this is even a finalist.

Historically terrible? Come on. There were some parts that weren't that great but it's far from being the worst.

The Meg, Skyscraper, A Wrinkle in Time, Nutcracker and the Four Realms, Pacific Rim Uprising... these were all $100 million+ movies released this year that have clearly worse CG. Judging from the ads I'm sure movies movies like Mortal Engines and Robin Hood are also full of terribad CG as well.

Can you name the 10 categories black panther will be nominated in?

Outside of bp, song, and effects tell me where else this at least 10 noms prediction is coming from

There's no way it gets director or screenplay or cinematography. Highly doubtful on editing. I agree they may throw the sound stuff at it.

The last act was laughable in the effects. That was 20mins.

It was historically bad some of those scenes.

I mean, I'm talking about what noms it may actually get, not what I think it deserves. That movie deserves no academy nominations obviously, especially for effects. But we all know it's getting a best picture nom and original song nom. And I wouldn't put it past them to nominate it in effects since they can sneak that nomination through since it was a big budget action movie.

But this guy thinking it'll get 10 or more is ridiculous. The more I think about it, I don't think it has a shot at the sound technical categories. Sound mixing and editing usually have 3 nominees and A star is born and Bohemian will have 2 of those 3 spots locked down in each of those categories. So I really don't see that happening for Panther.

I think it deserves a few noms. It's a weak year.

Man the bad part he could be right. The undeserved aclaim in some areas is disgusting agenda pushing. So no telling.

Hate all these awards now. They mean nothing anymore.

Yeah, Ready Player One should win with IW right behind it. It's a big drop-off from there.

Dude that was 2003 bro.

We are 2018.

Judge on a scale.

It is relatively the worst job for a big budget production with the tools available.

Have you seen The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)?

Black Panther’s CGI is better than that movie’s. Its CGI was awful.
