This is what I don’t understand that everyone says. They act like he just flys around and makes up numbers. The area for ducks to spread out is huge. 700,000 in the SW part of the state is not many and I can easily see that number spread out. I’ve seen several populations around 500. Can add up quick

i had the best season for greys and big ducks I had in 10 years last year, but suddenly the weather creates one bad year and its the cornfields in Missouri fault?
ducks wont fly 4,000 miles down here just so a bunch of coonasses can shoot them if they don't have to. waters high, weathers warm.

My lease in Terrebonne provided a pretty good weekend. Everyone limited out on mostly good ducks.

Last year was probably our best in 5 years but the weather was cold and Arkansas and N LA were dry. This year weather is avg and it’s wet up north

But if you don’t think all those acres of flooded corn + more no till farming+ more acres managed for hunting + less good habitat in s la have short stopped ducks the last 15- 20 years then you didn’t hunt back in he 90s

Terrebonne Parish?

I hunt North of the ICWW in Terrebonne parish. It has been horrible. I know there are some areas that are stacked up with ringnecks. For the most part, though, if you don't have the ringnecks, your pretty much shite out of luck. As is the case for me.

Same here. We are on the corner of Bayou Penchant and Bayou Chene. We’ve killed about 10 for the entire season so far. There might be 10 ducks remaining on our entire lease. Never seen it so bad in 40 years of hunting that lease.

You are just north of us, we are on the Penchant across from Kent Bayou. We have gotten skunked the last 3 hunts and our lease and our neighbors are holding zero birds. We are on a decline that started 4 years ago where every season has gotten worse.

Hunted this weekend in Whiteville. Looked like a lot of local birds and definitely no push of ducks since end of first split.

I think I know where yall are. Do you hunt on section 30?

The decline for us has been about 10 years. But it’s shite now. When I was a kid and even into my 30s we had hunting there that would rival the best that money could buy. It was insane. From November till January we always filled our limits. With good ducks too. Lots of Wigeons, green wings, grays, pintails. Some mallards, but in my opinion mallards are good for pictures, but not the best eating. then things started to change.
