many have christmas parties this week, yet you still have another week full of work before christmas
thats not really a christmas party, its just a party a week or two before christmas. office christmas parties should be done the week before christmas.
im not talking about days before christmas eve, im just saying a week before is fine, christmas eve is on monday so do it the monday before that, but not 2 or even 3 weeks before.
as for all the posts about reserving banquet rooms, i wasnt even talking about formal catered open bar bashes, those are understandable to be early. im just talking about the regular office party christmas parties

Finding a venue that isn’t booked can be difficult

A lot of companies have them at the same venue. You have to find a open date to be able to rent it.

granted there are always one or two employees doing this but the company isnt shutting down for 3 weeks so most everyone will still be there working every day right up until christmas and these are hard working employees most in need of a reward and party, not those off work gallivanting around the country to visit family

If somebody commits a fireable offense at the party you can get them off the books by the end of the year.

Few reasons:
1.) People take off for Christmas so the later you wait the more likely employees will be gone.
2.) Restaurants/venues fill up so if you have a particular place you like to have it you must organize it with enough time to lock it down. Otherwise, you are pushed to dates you don't like.
ETA: As someone who worked for a restaurant for over 9 years that did a lot of christmas parties, the week before saw FARRR fewer parties than Dec.1 until

With questions like this you won't likely be employed by the next McDonald's employee Christmas party.

Christmas Eve and Day is a Monday and Tuesday this year. Lot of people will be traveling next week since its gonna be a 4 day weekend for a lot of offices.

Some of the dumbass questions that are asked on here.... I really don't understand how some of you get by on a day to day basis. There's a good chance you struggle to put your shoe on the correct foot every morning.

People start taking off the closer it gets to the holidays plus, people start having family parties a week or two before Christmas. Seems pretty obvious,

I get free beer at my company party so I don't give a shite when they have it.

Because employees have family and friends they spend time with closer to Christmas?
