WBRZ LINK
These scooters have been popping up across the country. You download the app and ride the scooter as long as you want and then ditch it.
How long do you think this will last in BR?

BATON ROUGE - City officials say they're working to contact a private company after some of its electric scooters suddenly appeared in Baton Rouge.
Locals first spotted the motorized scooters Thursday morning around the downtown area. The mayor's office says Bird, the company that rents out the devices, seemingly dropped the scooters off overnight without first seeking approval from the city.

South Park already covered this.

All of these are going to end up in North Baton Rouge within the first few months.

They do this in every city.
Nashville got pissed and rounded up all the Birds and Limes and put them in a warehouse until they could make some local regulations around their use and speak to the companies.
They're back now.
They're a lot of fun and really easy to use. I use them all the time. You'll see guys in full suits during the work week in Downtown Nashville riding on them to lunch

These are all over Austin and have really become a problem.

I heard there is decent money in scooping them up and charging them.

Not sure you understand how they work

They are everywhere in Austin and they just approved for one of the companies to expand their service area

They've inundated DC for the past 6 months or so with about 6-7 different companies. They are a nuisance.

I was in Memphis a couple months back and saw some stellar wipeouts and few near misses when people would blast through intersections.

Yep. A guy on my street does this. Drives around his trailer and picks them up every night after his 9-5 job. Charges them overnight and drops them off on his way to work each morning.
Makes several hundred bucks a week on it I think.

They’ve been in Lafayette for a few weeks. I ride one for lunch daily

Wipeouts are hilariously common. Especially when the drunks on weekends are flying around on them on sidewalks and shite.
They go much faster than people realize.

They have them all over Memphis, no issues and fun to ride. That being said, Baton Rouge roads are barely setup for cars, there is no way they will be safe in BR. We actually have shoulders and bike lanes here.
How long before some baw gets pissed at the bridge and I10 traffic being at a stand still and just hops on I10 with one?

The BR PI lawyers will bleed this company dry within weeks. They’ll pull out quicker than a preacher man with a black girl.
