You've got LSU Alexandria, NSU, Louisiana College, and CTCC all around the same area.

This isn't asking for a school shutdown. I'm asking why we need so many Universities with duplicate programs in one area. Compounded with the fact that there are few collegiate jobs in that area relative to the population.

Edit: I know McNeese isnt in Cenla, but it's close enough (1 hour from Alexandria? ) to warrant a question about university proximity.

McNeese has a better selection of programs compared to LSU A in my opinion.

McNeese is nowhere near Central Louisiana, genius.

And NSU is halfway between Alexandria and Shreveport.

McNeese isn't central LA, Magellan.

You make a great reason why we should close Southern along with the schools you listed (besides LA college which is a private school)

Because there are lots of people in the area who failed high school and see this as their chance to a better life.

They're very wrong of course, but it is what it is.

So, LSUBR, Grambling, ULM are also in Cenla? Got it.

You aren’t getting to McNeese in an hour from Alexandria, chief

It's been awhile since I drove to Natchitoches and Lake Charles, so I'll freely admit I may have just gotten my locations mixed up.

That said, my complaint isn't against the schools. Ironically, I'm saying with such nice institutions, it's a shame that the job market of Cenla isnt very reflective.

My bad on McNeese, last time I'll say it here. But I always considered Natchitoches a Cenla city. Mostly because many associates I know went to it because they claimed it was closer to them (and they weren't from Shreveport).
