I'm friends with a former player on FB and saw an interesting post from him this morning.

quote:

Nurse just asked me why one of my knees are twice the size of the other? I guess the same reason I started 53 straight games at LSU but didn’t pass one physical at the combine? Interesting right? LSU?

LSU really passing out the Bud Kilmer treatment? I guess I always figured this happened to an extent, but it sucks to see guys dealing with it after the fact.

No one forced him to play football at LSU.

If he started 53 games, he must have been physically capable.

Why is that relevant today? Miles is gone.

Ciron Black got his knee fricked up against Bama. Is he really blaming the school for that injury?

Oh, so now players complain because they played too much? At least he has that free education and degree to fall back on.

A) no one forced him to play
B) he would not have been cleared unless there was no structural damage to the knee
C) whining on Facebook about a school who gave you so much is a real dick move

This ^ he fell one game short from the all time record for consecutive starts. No one made you play anything.

wasn't Ciron suing LSU at one point?

He has a voice too

Just could have told Miles he wasn't gonna play.

But our "blame e'erbody else" society is what it is.

I thought he had a degenerative joint condition? I'm not a doctor, so I don't know if that caused his knee problems, or was exacerbated by playing football.

No, Black sued/is suing Lloyd’s of London over his insurance policy

That’s why the narrative of “Greedy should just get an insurance policy” is fricking stupid. It’s extremely difficult to collect the full amount on these policies.

It was pretty well received that LSU misdiagnosed him.

I figured everyone would know honestly, which is why I didn't post the name. Just trying to be respectful of the guy.

Even though he gets a degree it's still not enough. Just think about all the millions of dollars he helped bring in by performing on the field. He's probably going to need knee replacement in a few years. Just because someone gets a degree doesn't mean they automatically get a good paying job. I am for the players in this situation.
