Is 23 and me one of the best government ideas yet?

I don’t like it but it was genius on their part. Advertising it as finding out your ancestry and health traits only to log everyone’s dna and keep a data base for the US population. It’s crazy to think people are just voluntarily turning over the information to them. Even though I don’t plan on committing a crime there is something weird to me about willingly giving them the info. Am I the only one who thinks it’s strange?

it's a govt thing?
Yrs ago I heard one of those original heritage sites was run by the mormon church, to collect the largest database of lineage, so I never fell for this dna craze. I even told my ex dont even think about it as a gift. She was kind of pissed. Ha

If you’ve ever masturbated in prison they already have your dna anyway.

Yeah they have used services like 23 and me to catch a couple old serial killers. The California murder rings a bell apparently one of his cousins or something did one of these and they were able to use his dna test to find the killer. While this is awesome they caught the guy it’s just weird that they are logging everyone to build a data base

You're right.
In fact, if you read their legal disclosure they can sell your genetic print to anyone they want....morons

I have never done this but hell if the government wants this info on me it wouldn't be hard. I did serve in the Army so I am sure they have anything they would want already archived somewhere.

I don’t know if it’s the gov per se. More like ancestry.com and the like selling the info to fricking google and Facebook and them logging your dna and profiling you and figuring out what bullshite ads to show you on YouTube and Facebook and tigerdroppings

Between this shite and Alexa people love snitching themselves out.

Yeah the crazy thing is how you don’t even have to participate and they have enough info from relatives that they can pin something on you. Obviously glad justice came in those instances but you can dream up some scary abuses of the information.

Been saying this ever since I saw it come out. It’s amazing to me how many Idiots submit their DNA to this kind of crap. Including my moronic mother in law.

Someone who runs your DNA will know more about you than you know about yourself.

Depending on when your served, the military collects it now early in your career in case they “need to verify your remains”.
