Not Disney, but does anybody remember this? Loved this movie, it was pretty scary to me as a kid though. Just read that they cut 11 minutes from the Japanese version so it could make a G rating. It was a pretty weird movie.

Came to post the Black Hole.

So underrated.

And a real sci-fi.

And not sugar-coated.

Such a creepy film.

Maximilian Schell and Anthony Perkins make it even creepier.

I wonder what the Disney meeting was like crafting this movie.

We need a Sci-Fi movie for kids, lets get Maximilian Schell, Anthony Perkinds and Ernest Borgnine.

Always bummed me out how the girl squirrel thought she'd found love only to have the illusion shattered and her world turned to shite in a single day.

Poor girl squirrel.

Loved Bedknobs and Broomsticks growing up. Mentioning it over the years, it seems as if a lot of people aren’t very familiar with the movie.

Moana. It's generally considered a good, modern princess movie.

The reality is that it is the greatest animated movie of all time.

I know quite a few people that would agree with you. It is a fantastic film!

If sword in the stone is considered underrated then I pick that one but I’m not so sure most people don’t consider it amazing.

I know it falls under the Pixar label but Brave is one of my favorites that doesn't seem to get a ton of love.

I wouldn't go that far, but it's pretty damn solid all the way around. Too many PIXAR films that are on equal footing IMO. Music is great in Moana though. Disney puts more emphasis on original music than PIXAR does.

I don't know if it's underrated, but I feel like a lot of people overlook The Rocketeer.

I think the animated films eclipsed the older live action films for many. I especially love the Hayley Mills films.

Another underrated group- the Disney Channel original movies. Brink, Under Wraps, HalloweenTown, Johnny Tsunami. Those bring back memories.

I'm actually surprised this hasn't been remade at some point. It's a nearly 40 year old film. You're right, it had a classic, but very creepy vibe throughout. I'm assuming it was meant to be Disney's answer to Star Wars at the time.
