Urban did NOT inherit some 10 win team.

This is true, but they went 12-1 in 2010 and were recruiting very well prior to the downturn in 2011. That 2011 season not withstanding, there was talent on that roster that Meyer was obviously able to take full advantage of in 2012.

Before Urban, they won ten games once in program history.

Even without the brain tumor, Urban has proven himself to be a head case. Greatness, interspersed with meltdowns.

He'd still be one of the best but I don't think he'd be having as much success in say the SEC or the Big 12 where there's at least 1 or two other programs yearly that can match them talent/coaching wise.

So FSU and Fisher don't count? He's been the Atlantic division champion 6 of the past 10 years. Fisher was there for all but this year. You're talking like he didn't develop Clemson under the noses of Fisher and Beamer, while recruiting against Georgia, USC, VT, Tennessee, Auburn and Alabama.

Urban is so strange. He is the best big game coach I have ever seen along with Pete Carroll. However, just like Pete, they will throw in a game or two a year where their teams look completely disinterested against lesser competition.

That's what makes Saban the GOAT at the college level. His teams always win the games they're supposed to win. Their focus is incredible. I think Pete's best teams can beat anyone, but he did have that one brain fart almost every year.

Dabo is 2-0 head-to-head against Urbs.

Saban has never lost by more than 14 at Alabama. He has not lost to an unranked team since his first season in 2007. Urban does one or both every year

I do wonder what having a healthy Nick Bosa does for this team. Losing him, as a player and captain, seemed to take some air out of the defense all year. Obviously he is a terror for opposing coaches, but he was one of the leaders on the team.

Ah well, time to crush Washington in the Rose

Urban is kind of Overrated. When he was in the SEC he coached in the East and dominated when it was down for 6 years. He had multiple losses to Auburn and Bama including a beat down from Mike Shula.

He never went undefeated against the West. 2009 he did win all 3 gamed against the West, but was blown out against Alabama in the SECG.

He was only 3-3 vs Les miles and LSU. He had losses to Ole Miss and Missippi St. Every team in the West except Arkansas beat his Florida teams. He had more losses to the SEC West schools than SEC East schools despite playing way less games against the West.

For reference Saban has went 8 years without losing to an SEC East team. Urban lost to a team from the West all 6 years he was in the SEC and lost multiple games to the West a few times.

He dominated FSU while Bobby Bowden was old and senile. When Jimbo took over at FSU and Bama won the championship the job got too hard and he ran.

That will always be a black mark against him, plus the shape he left UF in is also a black mark.

Urban is a great coach, but not the 2nd best and that makes him Overrated. He is top 5 though.

Dabo's 31-0 beat down and ability to make the playoffs consistently puts him over Urban for now.

It's the truth Jimbo instantly came in and recruited at an elite level and won a national championship. In his 1st season in 2010 he broke the steak Urban had over Bowden's Seminoles with a 4td beat down.

Urban ran when recruiting got harder with Fisher at FSU. He let the roster get so bad offensively at UF and he could not overcome the loss of Charlie Strong and Dan Mullen.

Need to win 1 game? Urban. Build up a program? Dabo.

I'd take Meyer in his prime but I'd take Dabo at present.
