Displaced, there were several articles that came out a couple years post Urban at Florida that talked about a toxic locker room culture with coaches looking the other way for star players and discipline issues.

Urban is a great coach, but there have been enough things that have come up with him from the past that make you wonder if the baggage that comes with him is worth it all.

Let's get this out of way - Aaron Hernandez was never charged or arrested for anything during his time at UF. But Urban should've kicked him off the team anyhow?

Neat. So you're saying Florida was looking for someone to blame because their program fell on its face.

Yeah I didn't hint at or mention Hernandez. He wasn't the only problem on that team.

There were a lot of UF fans on here throwing Urban under the bus after he left and these articles came out.

Why so defensive?

You must be a treat to be around.

quote:

Former players, though, contend it was the foundation of Florida’s culture under Meyer. In the season opener against Hawaii, Meyer said a few elite players (including wideout Percy Harvin, linebacker Brandon Spikes and tight end Aaron Hernandez) would miss the game with injuries. According to multiple sources, the three players—all critical factors in Florida’s rise under Meyer—failed drug tests for marijuana and were sitting out as part of standard university punishment.

quote:

It only got worse as Harvin’s career progressed. At one point during the 2008 season, multiple sources confirmed that Harvin, now a prominent member of the Minnesota Vikings, physically attacked wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales, grabbing him by the neck and throwing him to the ground. Harvin had to be pulled off Gonzales by two assistant coaches—but was never disciplined.

quote:

The biggest impact, former players say, was for those in the Circle of Trust. It wasn’t so much a focus on trust as it was a revelation of talent. If you could play and contribute, you were part of the chosen few.

“(Meyer) lost the team’s respect,” Thomas said. “That kind of stuff spreads through the players. They see what they can get away with, and they push it. Even the star players; they liked him because they were in the Circle of Trust. But it backfired on him. They didn’t respect him.”

Venables is an absolute stud and worth every penny of the 2mil they pay him. Idk if hes a Beamer type with little interest in a HC spot, but lets talk about daboo if he fails to replace him with another guy like that

Welcome to the Internet, sport.

Random copy/paste without citation is no more compelling than your initial claims. Give it another shot.

Aside from that, most of what you posted is speculative garbage, particularly the shite with Harvin.

You mean the post before where I linked to that article?

What does the coach gain from saying it did happen? Of course he is going to say that.

Correct. It's all speculative nonsense.

What does he have to gain from denying it? He wasn't even with the program at the time, was he?

This reminds me an awful lot of Brett McMurphy's brand of "journalism." He just tosses some shite out based on almost nothing. Meanwhile, those who were actually present dispute it.

Do you really wanna go down the speculation rabbit hole as a Clemson fan?

Dabo

If not for the Bama Juggernaut, he would have 3 straight titles. And he has beaten one of those teams for a title.

Meyer is a great coach, and a huge Piece of shite. Anyone who defends his character are retarded.

Meyer with info given to him, that Hernandez was a thug and was tied 2 a murder or 2 in Connecticut, still brought him 2 gainsville, where he then killed at least 2 other people.

He also faked a heart ailment in the biggest puss puss move in CFB history to run from Saban.

His team was littered with Arrests, he made the Fulmer Cup an annual trophy.
