Does anyone fry their fish with Italian Dressing? A friend of mines dad use to fry specks and redfish with Italian Dressing and it was the best fried fish I’ve ever had. I’m wanting to try and fry fish with Italian Dressing and am wondering if any of you guys do this or know how to do this?

Never heard of this. Dipped it in the dressing, then batter then fry?

Yep that’s how I marinade all of my fish. I’ll sometimes use mustard but usually it’s Italian, especially if I pan fry them.

You just have to be careful not to leave it in the dressing too long or the acid will cook the fish and make it fall apart. I usually put the dressing on 15-20 minutes before cooking

I use it anytime I make a beef or pork roast.

I have had it that way and it is good. I normally use a wash with egg, milk, mustard and seasoning. Nothing wrong with the Italian dressing though.

Dip your spec fillets in Italian dressing, then plain white flower. Shake off excess of each in turn. Fry in peanut oil. Light crisp and delicious.

Personally I don’t care for the grit of cornmeal and use corn flour instead

I find it hard to beat the Louisiana blue bag seasoned crispy.

Yep, that’s good stuff too. Blue or yellow bag. Depends on the mood.

I personally don’t use cornmeal when I fry. I either use shrimp fry or make my own

Best thing ever. My girlfriend introduced it to me. She lets them soak in egg, milk, tony’s, pepper, garlic powder, Lea and perrins, and Italian dressing. I love it on shrimp and fish.

Even better. Try The same basic formula with hamburgers. Italian dressing, Lea and perrins, eggs, tony’s, pepper, garlic powder, and some Italian bread crumbs( just enough to keep patty together) . It’s a lil hard to cook but man it’s the best.

That’s a meatloaf. Not a hamburger.
