Thank you to all the LSU fans for an incredible and amazing season from a player’s parents. Some schools recruited our son as a safety or an athlete, and some as a punter, and some as a kicker. We had the privilege of visiting and seeing many different parts of the college landscape during the recruiting process. Being from Auburn, AL and visiting West Point, Michigan, Harvard, Yale, Georgia Tech, Samford and others, we had a pretty unique view into college football programs nationwide and how they are run. They are not all equal-----LSU is special! Not just for its history and traditions but for the way the coaches and support staff genuinely care for its athletes. We met a lot of coaches on our visits. LSU has some of the finest men in the country leading this program and some incredible young men playing for it. We could not be happier that our son is a part of this football program and this school. We have had some awesome experiences this year. From starting out the season at Cowboy stadium, seeing Mike the Tiger, to Tiger Walk, to the pre-game smell of jambalaya in the air, the Georgia game, meeting and cheering with the parents of the players at games, brunch at Ruby Slippers, singing Callin’ Baton Rouge, to the incredibly welcoming fans everywhere we went, waiting for the players to exit the locker room after the game, Sunday breakfast at Louie’s Café (this became a weekly tradition) and even to the all-time epic game in College Station(we were robbed). This year was fun!
So thank you to everyone for welcoming our son and our family to LSU! The 6 hour drive from Auburn to Baton Rouge seemed to get shorter every weekend we drove it.
The next few years are going to be fun to be an LSU Tiger! Get Ready! We Comin!!

How good is our boy Avery at field goals?
Would love to have a kicker with a 60 yard leg on the team.

He has big shoes to fill

I haven never been more relieved and settled on kickoffs as I have been with your son toeing it up. He's a player we've sorely needed and I'll remember his fumble recovery against UGA forever.

Keep bombing the kickoffs.
Is Avery going to be in the hunt for PK duties next year?

Your son has some of the greatest HS highlights ever made . He would wreck entire teams lol. What a relief it was to have him booming kickoffs this year.

Glad you are enjoying such a great experience!
To say we needed a consistent big leg like Avery’s on kickoffs would be an understatement, what a blessing he’s been.

His fumble recovery vs Georgia is seriously one of my favorite plays ever.

We've not had anybody that can kick the ball in the endzone or through the damn endzone in forever.
You seriously don't know how much we appreciate having him wearing an LSU Jersey.

I can only remember 1 kick this year where we layed up, and they got like a 40 yard return. Avery didn't kick another one in the field of play all season.
