My son IS on the team and yes I WILL be fine with him Playing this fall.
During a closed spring Scrimmage in April when I didn’t see the ball hit the ground for 30 minutes against our first team D.
I booked my reservation for New Orleans two weeks later.....Seriously!
He works hard on being consistent. But even with me being biased -being his dad- the consistency is pretty dang impressive!!! All the specialists hold themselves to high standard. He’s just trying to get better every week and I think the whole team does that as well.
Being from Auburn- I have never been to a college game in BDS but I can say I didn't think it was anything compared to the likes of Tiger Stadium or Jordan-Hare or the swamp.
Yes it was loud when they scored but it wasn't during our offensive possessions.
Geaux Tigers-- it gets interesting from here on.......

re: Upgrades to Death Valley

We've been to every stadium except Kentucky and Death Valley is special.... but I could see the sound system upgraded. Besides that I would not change a thing!

I was told before we went to Kyle field last year about the sound system and it was impressive...
I know he appreciates the kudos. This is a special team loaded with talented and motivated high-character young men. We are all witnessing what happens when each player focuses on doing their job consistently in a selfless manner to the best of their ability- Great things happen. Avery is just one player on a team filled with players who are working their butt off to “do their job”!
I can’t say enough about Coach O and all the coaches. We haven’t seen their best game yet but it’s coming!
And to think that is only about a 1/4 of the devastating hits he had in high school but kicking and punting is his future.
What I think he didn't address enough is the commitment of the receivers and the "full on" route running. They are getting after it on each route. No one is taking off a play.
They are creating space for each other. Creating problem for defenders. Really some impressive "self-less" route running!

He was a very good high school safety. He was able to dictate some playcalling by teams - they would abandon over the middle routes and speed sweeps. Avery went up against some elite talent in high school-- Henry Ruggs (ala), Justin Ross (clemson), etc and fared pretty well against them but he thought his ceiling was greater in kicking and punting. Coach Mac and Coach O laid out a plan for him and were the reason he came to LSU. They believed in him, which his mother and I are forever grateful for.

After being here since Wednesday. I fully agree with this statement.
ForthebrandDad and ForthebrandMom will be there in Austin.

Thanks for the info- this is great!

I know I’ll be down for every home game to watch Avery play. Last year being our first we really didn’t know how or what to do. Now I think I could get 9 or 18 in on a Saturday am before a night game.
Sorry- didn’t even know about the golf board. I’ll post it over there

Golf recommendations Baton rouge

Posted by ForTheBrandDAD on 6/26/19 at 11:21 am
Looking for recommendations for the best places to play Golf on game weekends in Baton Rouge. I’ll be a single most times. Thanks in advance.

On another note-Turn your hat around and get ready - It’s going to be a FUN fall!
Since we live in Auburn, my wife hung an LSU flag in front yard and put LSU flags on her car and drove around auburn for the next 3 months. Pretty sure no one noticed!

I liked this one too!
Having seen Peter plan many games as he and Avery competed against each other over the years at rival schools- I’m not surprised by this dominate performance tonight. Peter is a classy young man. Hard worker. He is going to do great things at LSU. He will only get better.
Thank you! After watching him play growing up and in high school, my wife and I were probably the only ones in Tiger Stadium who were not surprised he stuck his nose in there on the fumble- but I was really proud of him just the same.
Do your job! Help your team! Find a way to win!
