Got from a local, non-lsu source today that TM could wind up at 1 of 4-5 schools and named LSU, the evil place, Maryland, Texas or FAU. I asked about the latter, and was told it would be to "replace Lane when he eventually leaves."

Take it fwiw and with all other caveats.

They're talking about bringing him in as an analyst. He's been running a quarterback's academy in Houston. Why do you all think that he has nothing to offer? It makes no sense whatsoever to shite all over the man when he's obviously knowledgable about the QB position. LSU has historically had trouble developing QBs. Coach O is bringing in somebody to help and you all can do nothing but shite all over the man. It makes no sense at all. I don't care who it is. If they can help with QBs I want to see them here. I don't know what school the people in this thread are fans of but it's not LSU.

Well Ensminger is knowledgable about the QB position but that didn't help the offense very much this season did it?

I'm sure the head football coach has LSU's best interests at heart when looking for analysts but I think people want to see someone with results and a reputation for developing elite QBs brought into the fold.

What's pathetic is a decent percentage of this fan base won't criticize Ensminger because he's a Tiger. He is a subpar O.C., and that's all that matters.

I can’t say that for sure because I don’t believe the offensive scheme and game plan is his.

Y’all don’t think Faulk can coach running backs? He is basically the running backs coach already. He works with the players in practice.

Had multiple Super Bowls for the greatest nfl coach in history. Bellichek kept him around because he was such a smart player. He also was a great pass blocker and blitz pickup is the toughest part of being a running back.

I wouldn't mind hiring him. He was passing game coordinator/WR coach at Memphis in 2017 when they had the 2nd best offense in the country. He was a rising pick a couple years ago.

He was also the HC at St Augustine and coached Fournette, Matthieu and Mike Wallace.

I think the only question is if there is really any smoke here or is this just speculation?

It's just a matter of fact. Ensminger is our OC, and we were ranked 80th or lower for most of the year. Do with those facts what you will.

Some choose to blame the ills on the previous coach, the SEC, whoever. That's their choice and who's to say who's wrong. I know that Ensminger is a true Tiger and will do everything in his power to make this an elite offense, but after last season it may be fair to wonder if he's capable of that.

I certainly don't want this to be construed as bashing him though I'll be accused of it no doubt.

No that's fair. I will continue to say it was a multifactorial problem of lack of experience with all the new starters, talent deficiencies at RB, OL, injuries and coaching. SE is not going anywhere in 2019 so we are left to upgrade or mitigate those other deficiencies and get position coaches that can help.

If the 2019 offense doesn't show extremely significant improvement then we need to break the bank on a big time OC and let him choose his staff. I still would not be surprised if Kiffin comes calling in 2020.

May try to bring in a Big time OC, but he will not be able to choose his staff.

I actually don't believe they will make wholesale changes! Narrative will be about the new recruiting class and not wanting to mess up the new QB and starters for 2020.
