I can't believe these Eaux worshipers would actually get rid of the only qualified coach on the frickin' staff. Let's keep the DL coach posing as HC, keep TE coach posing as OC, and fire the only reason LSU has limped to a #12 finish. As noncontributory as the HC and OC have been, Aranda earned every penny of $2.5m putting up with HUNH3nOUT with thin D reserves

Don't worry. One more year of Aranda's defense having to carry Ensminger's dumpster fire of an offense will probably be all Dave can stomach, especially if Orgeron tries to make him the scapegoat for losses.

I know. Our lack of talent there is hard to believe.

The crux of the issue is, a team should only need one elite coordinator, as ideally, the head coach should be an elite tactitioner on one side of the ball.

I know you're doing it to make a point now, but the rational folks have been saying this since O was hired full time. People will point to Dabo, but he is an exception, not a rule. And thinking O could be that exception with this background was misguided.

This whole thing played out in Aranda's raise when O could do nothing to sell the program and build value in his vision or in the program in what career skills/goals/experiences it could bring Aranda over time.

Yet, here we are.

But with our talent on defense, I’m not sure we NEED Dave Aranda in order to have a great defense.
Sounds eerily similar to LSU recruits itself, nevermind regressing to one of the worst class ranks this century, we comin.

It was 17-7 Aggies...Aranda makes adjustments at half...defense completely dominates and LSU makes it 17-17 until Giles..who has looked shaky as return man from day one (but O sticks with him anyhow)...muffs punt ..and a dead tired Aggie defense gets off the hook and Arandas defense who just sat down has to get back up. That was the game right there in my opinion. Aranda will be here waaaay longer than shrimp boat captain.

It’s not that no one else can do that job, it’s that we might not get someone else who can do the job.

Aranda was sorta a perfect pick because he was somehow young, well regarded, had a great track record and at a school that would never match our offer.

Looking at the top DCs out there, you have to wonder who is like that?

Dabo could be a good, possibly elite, OC on most FBS teams.

How many would hire O to be DC or Miles to be OC?

At this point i question whether or not O is this dline guru or not. He cant take 4 star dline talent and make them productive.

We were short a few key people at the end of the game on Saturday. Fulton was a pretty big loss.

Losing your pass rush specialist early in the season hurt too.

I didn't even go with no Chaisson, Fulton, or Phillips (whose was ejected). And even with all that, Aranda's side of the ball's worst ranking is higher than the offenses sides highest ranking.

I'm not saying the defense was bad, but was it great is the question.)

How did we get 9 wins? Our offense was triple digit bad.

True. But still, it wasn't like the defense was game changing and best in 5 years. It was awesome no doubt, but like I said earlier...a $2.5 mil salary carries with it a hefty amount of requirements.

Our offense also scored

17
19
And 24 in regulation and the only reason we had a lead in the 4th was a defensive TDs. And they scored 7 when we miffed a punt deep in our own territory.

Say what you will but the Defense played pretty well.

We can’t keep relying on 17-24 points of offense to win the game.
