Have we figured out who shot the little girl? Details were sketchy earlier, kind of made it sound like it might have been the good guy.

This is not a mass shooting. I thought I was going to read about another white dude who went into the mall shooting at random people. This is probably just some hood shite.

Hoover PD shot the suspect. Jefferson County Sheriff was handling the investigation until about three hours ago when ALEA took it over because of a "conflict of interest".

She may go there tomorrow with her mom while me and FIL hang out.
Her parents live in Vestavia now but she wanted to stay near downtown. Here's the murder map relative to our hotel. Not many escape routes, but the hotel is nice.

Something strange here.
Lot of people on Facebook saying he was the wrong guy, that he either had his gun drawn while trying to get to an exit like a lot of other shoppers. Some even claiming he was open carrying on his hip and didnt even have it drawn, but I don't buy that because in the pic of his body the gun is on the floor 5 feet from his head.
Of course, he also updated his facebook profile picture to this an hour before the shooting (that's his gun he tried to blur out)
Take all that with a grain of salt of course, there's a certain segment who will always blame the cop no matter what. Being that it happened inside I'm sure it's all on video and the truth will come out

Marine Corps yes, Army not so sure. I heard his father is with Birmingham PD. Dead guy supposedly went to MMI prior to Army. If so, Dad was spending some bank on son to keep him on the straight and narrow.

Yeah. It looks bad all over at that scale, but if you zoom in there are only two in the entire downtown area, from the Civic Center all the way to Homewood and between 65 and 31. Nobody gets killed downtown.

That's an interesting question. Active gang affiliation might get you sent home with the quickness, but I don't think a simple picture would.
