Posters on the OT are saying it’s possibly resulted from a fight between teens. So likely not planned.

Shooting was in Hoover at the Galleria Mall. Apparently, gunman started shooting in food court. 3 shoppers were injured, but the police shot the suspect dead. Good job!

My daughter was there with her boyfriend. She called crying. They were near the food court when it happened and ran and hid in a closet of a store. They locked the whole area down and wouldn’t let them go until they cleared it.
Shooter dead. Some shoppers injured. Not sure on the motive yet.

Should be plenty. I guess as far as malls go. It's the most upscale mall in Birmingham. I haven't been in years, though. Perhaps the Brookstone has been replaced by a check cashing place.

It’s scary when something like this hits so close to home. We are still out shopping in Hoover but there are cops everywhere

It used to be. However Cultcha started moving in about 10 years ago and it has gone downhill ever since. I would say that the Summit is now the nicest mall in the ham. The Summit went with the outside mall format in hopes of keeping the cultcha from congregating. So far it seems to be working.
