I kind of want an AR10 ...308, 7mm-08, or 6.5 Creedmore and why?

It will be set up with a thermal scope for hog hunting.

I asked the same question in the AR15 thread and it seemed like most agreed that 6.5 Creedmoor is the way to go. I watched a ton of youtube and read a good bit and decided I wanted to go with 308. I don't think you'd regret going with any of those.

.458 SOCOM, the baconator.

Ill only vote for this if you get a suppressor.
Any of those 3 calibers will be just fine. Its not like youll be shooting 500 yards with your thermal.
If its a dedicated night gun, Id do a suppressed 308.

I have a SCAR 17, Armalite AR10 Super SASS and 6.5 creed bolt gun. I shoot all 3 suppressed. The Armalite is the most accurate to 600 yds. The SCAR is light has manageable recoil, is very reliable and a folding stock. It’s accurate enough to ding 10” gong at 600 yds.
If I had to choose any of the 3 it would be the SCAR hands down. If going with the AR10 platform give Armalite a look. I love my super SASS. It’s goid gun for the money. If you feel like waiting 12-16 weeks the LaRue PredOBR is badass. You can get a LaRue in 6.5CM as well.

I was in the same boat as you and after much thought decided on a ruger American ranch in 7.62x39. My shots are going to be less than 100 yards though. Plus I figured if I spent 400 on the gun I could spend more on the scope. But out of those 3, I'd go .308

You should consider a 6.5 Grendel. Plenty energy for a hog and about 2lbs liter in a smaller frame ar

.308 easily. More horsepower and ammo selection.

If you'll be still hunting then 308. If you're going to be do alot of walking/stalking then would consider something lighter like a 6.8spc. I've got both & they are both great but if I'm going to sit I bring a 308. The recoil on a semi-auto 308 w/ a suppressor I find is very reasonable. 308 loaded w/ a full mag of ammo is to heavy to lug around though.

Agreed with this. Love my 6.5 cm, but until they offer a subsonic round I have to suggest the 308 here. And only if a suppressor is part of the equation.

This but I love my 6.5 Grendel AR that Sulzer built me. It's a struggle between it and the OBR.

We will stalk for hours carrying three different AR’s 223, 308, 6.8spc.. majority of our shots are under 50yards. All three rifles kill. The AR 10 gets handed off because of its weight.

I really like mine in 308. Also have a bolt in 308 so I'm not having to reload too much different ammo.

I have a 308 from Palmetto State. It weighs 11 lbs with a scope. It's heavy.

I prefer a bolt action AR in those calibers. I prefer the Grendel with semi.

I love my Aero Precision M5 in 308. Took my first doe with it last weekend and it's a very soft shooter. I believe you saw a picture of it in the group
.
I also would vote 308 since you get the widest variety of ammo at any store. And if you handloaded, your options would be never-ending since you can find a .308" bullet in virtually any variation. I took my doe with a 150gr Hornady SST and it had excellent performance with a clean pass-through.
Know that with an AR10 you're gonna have a little bit of weight and most of that is in the BCG. The BCG in an AR10 is significantly larger than the 5.56 one in an AR15.
I built my Aero Precision rifle with hunting in mind and I have it hovering right at 9 pounds with a Leupold VX3 on it. That's about as light as I could get it without going to a pencil barrel. I got a Faxon Big Gunner (medium profile) barrel to keep the weight down and it's been pretty accurate. Also will add that I hunt with a green spotlight instead of an electronic optic as well to keep weight down.

JP Rifles LMOS, baw
for a suppressed, thermalized pig gun I run a 12.5" 6.5 Grendel.
But of the options you gave i'd vote .308
