You’re good. The whole hacker thing is urban legend and Uber has addressed this.
They’re the ones doing it for promotional purposes and they’ve pissed a lot of users off in the process so they gave us an out,
The wife and I both went through it.
You can also block texts from them but that’ll mean you will not receive arrival notices and billing confirmations when you use them again.
