he just didn't run a QB friendly system. Even Brandon Jennings could be a proficient QB if you ran the right plays at the right times in the right offense.
Harris was awful at a supposedly QB friendly school. Jennings was meh after he left. Some of these guys just stunk.
Les obviously had issues with QB evaluation.

I still say that Les did less with more than any coach at LSU except Curley Hallman!

500 at KU is miraculous
I don’t think you are taking into account the program Okie St was prior to Miles??? He laid the foundation for the succeees afterwards as well. He runs a tremendous program.
He came to a great situation at LSU, but still.. he immediately won 11 games in his first two seasons .. then 12 in his third .. I would not call that a decline. He took over a 9 win team and immediately had to deal with Katrina? And yet he increased the win total.
I’d say he deserves a little more credit.
X and o’s are what I want from a hc, but there is still something to be said about certain guys who run a top level program.. it’s more than just x and o’s at this level. You buid a staff, relationships, recruit, maintain, keep a program clean.. develop players to the next level.
What level are you at Coach CJ?

This is the dumbest shite I see people post here. I guess Saban made Tua amazing? I guess Saban is responsible for all of the god given talent he has?
You can recruit a high school QB, him get to college, and all the coaching on the WORLD wont help him in the world won’t give him talent. Sometimes they have just peaked, both mentally and physically.
An example would be Brandon Harris vs Wisconsin. The interception he threw in the 4th was one of the worst throws I’ve ever seen. It was borderline criminal. There is no amount of development that is going to make him not throw that pass.

Like it or not, LSU doesn't win that game if Jefferson doesn't play
And LSU wouldn't have been undefeated going into the Bama game if Jefferson had been the starter. Lee deserved much better than he got. He had one bad half and Les jumped at the opportunity to bench him. Lee could see the writing on the wall as soon as Jefferson returned from his suspension. JL knew what was coming and he played like a QB looking over his shoulder and was never the same.

Ok. Let's say you're right.
Did Brandon Harris deserve better in relation to Danny Etling? Did Les jump at the opportunity to bench him? Did Brandon see the writing on the wall as soon Etling was signed? Did Brandon know what was coming and played like a QB looking over his shoulder and was never the same?
Be consistent.

This is not to bash Miles but does he not realize that he was responsible to recruit and develop these QBs?
Where does he say that he was not responsible for who he recruited?

bull shite. Jefferson was just an all around better QB, especially in high pressure games and under attack, than Lee. Lee played scarred and couldn't handle the pressure that come from other great teams. Lee would have thrown 6 ints and come out on a stretcher if he finished the 9-6 Tuscoulosa game or played in the SEC champ or NC games.

it's coach speak. doesn't matter to us anymore. we know who les was, and is. for me, I loved and hated him in turn. I wish him well in his new job.

People here are so fuqing stupid. How many titles did Bobby Bowden have in his entire 40 year head coaching career? How many titles did Spurrier have? People’s perception of reality is so skewed by what Saban has done. Ridiculous. Les Miles won one title and made it to another title game in a decade. That’s enough for legendary status.

But yet Les and Cam Cameron were willing to bet their future on Felipe Franks as their next "passer"
Good luck coach

Not for 10 years, it can't. The law of averages won't allow that.
I would argue we can both be right. Had Les stayed long enough his record would have come back to the .500 range?
When he took over a program Saban built it skewed his numbers a great deal.
How else do you explain the numbers he had at Oaky St.?
Once again, a great coach as you insinuate should go to KU and be .700.
I believe he will be more .500.
It will take a couple of years but, I have great faith in what my eyes saw him put on the field at LSU.
Unbelievable talent that won many games despite piss poor coaching and game management.
KU won't have that talent, he cant be .700 with his coaching.
I know you are infatuated with him, but I expect you will be very disappointed when he lays an egg at KU.
Or am I wrong, you are putting up a front and think he will go .500 at KU?

We can't. We have fundamentally different opinions. Mine is backed up by results. Yours are backed up by your feelings.

Harris and Jennings were mis-evaluated by the staff in high school. They both had severe accuracy issues but could run. Both of them were terrible even after they transferred from LSU. Not defending Miles, but when your QB talent is sub-par and you have top level RB's, I would heavily lean on them too.

Lee has LSU undefeated until he threw an int at the Alabama game...not sure he ever threw another pass.
.
For his career Lee had 1/7 TD/INT ratio vs Bama.

I couldn't disagree more. The guy couldn't read a defense to save his life and had a me first prima donna attitude. If Lee was a head case, it's because Miles and his staff made him that way.

bullshite. He played well in the first 8 games of 2011, including winning on the road in a very hostile environment at West Virginia.

bullshite again. Jefferson played horribly in both the 201l SECCG and 2012 BCSCG.

’s an idiot... No other way to put it
-Best win % in lsu history
-#7 win% in sec history
-Most top 5 finishes(as many as Saban, mac ,and dietzel combined)
-Most top 10 finishes in lsu history( had as many top 10 finishes as the previous 40 years of lsu football combined)
-Is the only lsu coach tk beat auburn, bama , and Florida in the same season and he did it multiple time.
- during his tenure no program beat more ranked teams than lsu
-during his tenure no program was ranked in the top 25 for more weeks
-if you erased miles from 2005-2011 even his 2012-2016 win % would he the 3rd best in lsu history
-had the best sec season in lsu history
HE ACCOMPLISHED ALL THOSE GREAT NUMBERS WHILE COACHING IN THE MOST DOMINANT ERA OF SEC FOOTBALL EVER.
If thats an idiot, i hope all our coaches are idiots.
