Whats the best gumbo mix you have found at the store? I always make one from scratch but sometimes end up not making one because I don't have the time or don't want to make that much.

I haven't tried any but Oak Grove Smokehouse makes one and they have a pretty good jambalaya mix
Probably wouldn't be a bad bet

Freezer...frozen gumbo is how I get through winter flu season.

I used to use the Oak Grove Gumbo Base. Don't use any mix that has rice mixed in with the base part - it doesn't cook right.
Anybody tried the Bailey's mix that you can use to make 10 different dishes? I saw it in Rouse's, but it was about $4.

I've heard Guidrys and Karys but I've yet to try either one.

I prefer Louisiana over Oak Grove.

Yep, gumbo is really not that hard to make from scratch.

Yes, it's my favorite.
I cheat all the time, and use a bunch of different ones.

For a quick mid week gumbo Mamma Paul's is pretty good. Brown some smoked sausage, debone a rotisserie chicken and you got a decent meal in a pinch.

Guidry's is pretty good for what it is. It's for someone that wants it quickly or someone that doesn't know how to make it. It can't compete with homemade from scratch but it's much better than that frozen savoies or Richard's stuff.

I like to mix oak grove, Louisiana and my own homemade roux.
