Jim Sterling put out a video kind of laying out how Bethesda screwed this one up and how they think they can get away with the "oh, you know, people say our games are broken, what do you do, we're Bethesda", and most people are over it. I can't disagree. I'll always play Bethesda and Ubisoft regardless, but I'm hoping that with this new space game and the eventual ES6, they'll actually take their time and make this right, learn from mistakes, realize they can't get by just because they're Bethesda.

they are using the same engine (gameybro?) for tes6 and starfield so don't expect much change on that front.
this entire business model may be fricked and the internet rage burns with reason, but let me ask this:
Given everything we know now, what would be "better" for "us gamers": No Fallout title this year, no fo76, still have to wait 4 more years for fallout 5. No nerd rage, bad youtube reviews, no extra $$$ from this cash grab etc
vs
this "bad title" of f076 which is still new fallout content in 2018 resulting in half the FO community being sundered with fury and general disdain for everything not new vegas, the other half playing and being told they like trash . both sides generating buzz (good and bad)
a gaming company that no one talks about, and doesn't release any games , doesn't last long. Bethesda took a risk, generated some revenue creating content, and decided to take the good with the bad. I can respect that

Howard likes taking risks regardless of how it might go. I can admire that, but sometimes it's a pile of shite. Live and die by the sword.
EVERYONE wanted a NV type offering to FO4, and most were convinced we were getting it. Or even a remastered FO3 since it was the 10 year anniversary. That's fueling a lot of the hate as well, and don't let anyone kid you that it's not.

I haven't played Fallout 76 yet, but I would say that memorable NPCs were never Bethesda's strong suite. Creating detailed, immersive worlds that players enjoy exploring is their bread and butter.
In that sense, Fallout 76 seems to focus on this more than any other game in the franchise.
I even understand bugs/glitches. There's just no excuse for the game to be as poorly optimized as it is.

It's a Black Friday sale, this isn't uncommon. The game is actually pretty fun so far, I'm playing with a group of friends which might make it more enjoyable

already have a wheel full of favorite guns and dealing with inventory capacity issues. Guess I don't need a shotgun/revolver/rifle if I am just beating people with spiked boards and serrated machetes
I do like the CAMP system but haven't really built anything yet. I find enough workbenches etc just out and about
I managed to go from lvls 1-5 without actually equipping a perk card. woops

If the DLC wasn't free, this game would be Free with Gold in the xbox store in 3 months.
LOL Already on sale, from $60 to $40. The preorder people are f'in pissed. A drastic slash after a week. This is super sad for a large studio, and one of their bread and butter franchises.
And don't give me any black friday crap, this is a horrendous failure for a game that is a weekish old.
It will be $20 or less by end of January. Free with gold in March.
