We could have played hard ball and told him to go pound sand, if he takes another job, we could potentially offset everything. On the flip side, he could have taken the job for $500K and let LSU supplement the rest.

Glad neither party did that. Glad they worked together, but this was about business for both parties.

Or he can get a new job making the sane amount he has been getting paid...all while getting anther 1.5 mil from LSU. The man has stuck it to LSU everytime he could about money. It amazes me how some actually thinks he did it to help LSU

I have always hoped that he would end up being the AD.

No. No. And god no.

He IS NOT qualified for this position. Not at a high school, much less at LSU.

No.

Lsu doesn’t benefit financially from not owing him 5.5 million anymore?

Do you know how to math?

Yes, suprisingly

Did I post that it didn't help LSU?

Or

That he did it for HIS benefit and not to help LSU?

If he's being paid 2mm from LSU and gets hired for 2mm, he no longer gets paid from LSU.

It was a great move for him, if he's getting hired. He was able to get another 1mm before buyout stopping.

Do you Read and comprehend

Miles is a class act, but you are mistaken. What he did was 100% selfish, as would any good businessperson.

So, it was class when he used his buddy Jeff Long and Arkansas to get a raise?
Smart, but not class.
You sound like the kind of guy who thinks the guy fricking his wife is doing him a favor.

One more second on that clock at AU and/or no busted LF ankle and he may still be coaching at LSU

Love the guy but he couldn’t risk sitting out another year. Had to negotiate and glad we were able to make a deal.

I sometimes hate that I root for a school that has so many stupid fans.

At EVERY and I mean every point Miles has been a class act

Pay me millions to sit on the couch or watch kids grow up and I’d kiss arse on the brown spot. Easy to be classy in that situation. Cannot wait until he takes over at Ole Miss!

There was just nce a recruit, Phelon Jones, from Alabama who committed to Florida. We had been recruiting him pretty hard til that point. Upon commiting he asked all schools to leave him be and no longer call him. Les obliged. Months later Jones decommited and when deciding which schools he would consider, he came back to LSU and a big reason was that Les obliged the family and stopped contacting him. Jones would sign with LSU. He never became much here but 2-3 years in he wanted to go back home, family illness I believe. Les never flinched and upon Jones release, Les put Jo restrictions, allowing Jones to transfer to Alabama, though Saban was beginning the reign he's currently in. An example why we should all be proud to have had Les coach here. No matter how some feel about the end, he should be remembered as an all timer as LSU coach. Even a title.
Did not care about the money. We've got it and have wasted more on worse. The move saved LSU 5+ mil so no matter selfish or not, LSU saved 5+ mil. That's a win for both sides to me.

Better chance that he just played Alleva. Miles will be 1.5 ahead now. Gotta love Les!

I don't even know if this is a serious post. #1 - how in the hell did he play Alleva. LSU is 5 million TO THE GOOD. Miles just lost out on 5 million dollars over the next 5 years. Sure, there is a value of immediate money, but the discount over 5 years is not 5 million dollars. Les is clearly going to get a new job and it frees everybody up. Both sides come out ok....LSU more so than Les

If Miles accepts the Kansas job tomorrow LSU would have likely owed him nothing. Miles gets 1.5 today and a contract with Kansas. What are you missing?
