An NBC News exit poll reported that 60 percent of voters last week favored stronger gun laws, including 42 percent of gun owners. This was regardless of party affiliation. Furthermore, a new Pew Research Center analysis showed that more Americans now favor gun regulation (52 percent) over gun rights (44 percent) — a flip from 2016.

Polls like these are completely disingenuous because I doubt 5% of the people polled ACTUALLY know what the gun laws are. There are plenty of "strong" gun laws already on the books. It's not as if anyone can just walk into a grocery store, buy an AR-15, the walk out the same day and start blasting people.

Fine. Let’s put a wall up around chiraq. No one enters no one leaves. Gun free zone inside the walls.

You in, bitchatl?

Who gives a shite? Let's assume the stat is accurate. The better question would be how many owners die from a gun just simply laying on a table or in a drawer from an accidental discharge WITHOUT human interaction? For instance, if I an idiot cleaning my gun while it's loaded and it fires is it the gun's fault or the human's fault? Or, if I shoot my friend because I'm playing with what I thought was an unloaded gun, whose fault is that?

I own 3 guns. In 30+ years not a single one has EVER just spontaneously fired without human interaction.

The same people that insist of stricter gun laws never stop to consider that the majority of shootings occur either in gun free zones or cites with existing strict gun laws.
That's because it has nothing to do with victims and has everything to do with hurting the R party.

Little harder to bring a gun from Chicago to London than it is from Gary, IN to Chicago...

But you knew that already.

The stat smells like something that somebody made up and published. Then the unverified published assertion just keeps getting repeated.
It's like '1 out of every 3 college girls will get raped' or '1 out of every 6 children in America are starving'.

How bout from Tijuana to San Diego? Or do you just count that as returning the guns Obama sent down there??

Again, it's easier to get a gun from Gary, IN to Chicago than it is from Tijuana to Chicago.

That's exactly what we see: states with stricter gun laws have fewer firearms deaths

Let me ask you guys a question, because I really don't know a lot about guns. Are AK47's automatic or semi? Which one they are would likely answer my second question, and that is, are they legal to buy in the US by the average citizen?

AK47's can be either automatic or semi automatic.
Semi automatic AK47's are available to purchase in the US by the average citizen.

Of course I have to ask; who do you consider an unaverage citizen?

Odd that you don’t want a wall put up around chiraq. I mean, don’t you want to stop the inflow of guns into the gun free zone?

Don’t you want to stop gun violence?

No more than I want to put a wall around St. Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, Kansas City, New Orleans, Cleveland, Memphis, or Newark - which all have a higher per-capita homicide rate than Chicago.

Damn. Dem shithole are more plentiful than I thought.

We don't have as much of a gun problem as we have a culture problem and mental health problem.

Why not? I’m all for it. Why won’t you think of the children in those downtrodden communities? Don’t you want to see them grow up with a father figure (rotflmao)?

If you’re so anti gun, why don’t you support a means to Control what comes in and out of a city? I mean a wall and mandatory checkpoints with mandatory life sentences without parole for any caught with a firearm would do wonders for controlling gun crime.

And, since you so eloquently put it, since the guns are coming from outside the city, you’ll completely eliminate gun deaths!

It’s almost too easy of a solution. Why aren’t you about it bitch?

There's no need for a wall, because stricter gun control laws could reduce the number of guns in circulation, thus reducing the number of gun deaths.

What you're proposing is only 'necessary' when you ignore the simplest, most effective methods of curtailing gun violence.

Absolutely there is. You think gun control laws will make guns disappear? Kinda like how murder laws made murder disappear huh?

A wall with mandatory strip and property searches unpon entering the no gun area where violators will be locked up for the rest of their life will absolutely stop the inflow of guns.

Why are you so dishonest bitchatl?

It is the simplest method of curtailing gun violence. Mandatory search and seizure of any and all people coming into a gun free zone and the harshest and unilateral punishment available for those who violate.

What you’re proposing will only keep an honest man honest. Which, of course, we all know, criminals aren’t fricking honest and don’t obey fricking laws

What’s that old saying again? Oh. Yeah.

A LOCK ONLY KEEPS AN HONEST MAN OUT

Your own link talks about how Maine amd Louisiana have similar gun laws but different rates of firearm-related incidents which means other factors are at play. You just played yourself

I don't think it, I recognize that it's a fact due to numerous studies and datapoints.

You really think that if murder were legal we'd have fewer murders than we do now? Yeah, everyone's a real angel..
