What a shitty thing to happen.

I was wondering why the story highlighted the fact that the poor guy was black...

Oh, that’s why.

ETA: I didn't realize that I needed to include the definition of highlight

highlight n.
An especially significant or interesting detail or event.

I think the fact that the victim is black is the reason why the writer highlighted the fact that the victim is black.

Police Fatally Shoot White Security Guard Who Detained Shooting Suspect

I'll probably get down voted here, but only one side of the story has been covered. It seems like everybody always jumps to a conclusion before hearing all of the facts. There may be extenuating circumstances regarding this incident that have not been released to the public. Regardless, it is a tragic event.

Police rarely save anyone from danger. That's not what they are for

Their job is to show up afterwards, write reports and try to find the perp.

Your protection is 100% up to you

If I’m that cop....

“Here’s my gun and badge. I’m out. “

No way I’d ever work again. “World needs more bartenders!”

Don't mind that dude. Never has anyone deserved to be gangraped in an alley with no sign of help anywhere near him than that guy. Just wishing he had more "dumb shite" friends as he's crying on the sidewalk...

That's not what he said. Your inability to understand what he said actually strengthens his point.

So let me guess. All of the really smart people don't join the service or LE, they spend their days "Talking" about whats wrong with everyone else standing strong against the system that gives them the freedom to just talk... Punk Bitches

, the reading comprehension of the military/LEO guys on this site continues to strengthen his point.

Most =/= all. Also, just like there are bad cops despite most being good people, there are smart, high level cops despite most being average to below average intelligence.

There are police departments that actually screen applicants and won't interview a candidate with an IQ that is too high.

You are 100% correct. Im law abiding but I've never encountered a cop who wasn't an a-hole in or out of uniform.

I only know one person who works in law enforcement, he didn't have many options outside of that when he graduated in criminal justice per conversations with him.

I know quite a few people who are, or were in the military. Colleges weren't beating down their doors to enroll them in classes at the time of their entry into the military. I do know one exception that is currently a Lieutenant Colonel who had educational options, but he also wanted to be a pilot (that didn't work out either but he has had a successful military career).

I only know of 2 exceptions and both ended up as Green Berets. Both came from a family where dad was in the military and also educated.

the rest were shitbags. Cops and military. Not saying I agree with the initial poster, because I'm just one person with some examples. But I went to a small town high school, and lots of folks ended up in the military. Most of those people were dull as a butter knife.

You're absolutely right. The politicians who want to run our healthcare and do run education are much less wasteful and more intelligent. It is people like you who make me sometimes for a second wish we had no law enforcement or military. Selfishly I admit because no one is getting me, but I'd love to see some of your reactions to real life circumstances where you had neither of these groups you so despise. It isn't hard to visualize either, look around the globe. You'd be crying in the middle of a square, with one hand already cut off, getting baseball size rocks thrown at you by hundreds of Africans speaking German, all because you believe sucking cock isn't a crime...
