New Idea: No early voting

No mail-in voting, no voting other that “Show the frick Up” on Election Day. Cuts down on the chance of voting frickery.

Stupid idea. Early voting “in person” is no less secure than election day voting.

The only places having issues with vote counting are the places that want to have issues with vote counting.

I was in Oregon this week. They only allow mail in voting and all votes must be in by election day

Agree.
Remote voting introduces less security.

Not agree. You still need absentee voting, the kind where you actually have to go down to the courthouse to place your vote.

Election Day.
Why not a "two day" election day. No exit polls on the first day and no vote tabulations until after the polls close on the second day. Would reduce long lines on one day voting and could possibly take inclement weather out of the equation also.

You don't understand, the progressives don't want fair elections as much as they want to win. The socialists want numbers, and the more they have, the more they can cry "suppression" when the votes didn't follow what the law says. It's going on in Georgia at this very moment.
What is going on now is the EXACT reason they don't want voter ID. It isn't because of poor blacks that can't get an ID, it's because it makes their job harder. Why do liberal districts always "find ballots" in closets? That tells me that things aren't nearly as secure as they'd have us believe.
Elections are state responsibilities & it needs to stay that way. Since I'm in Georgia, I'd like to see tougher standards on provisional/absentee ballots. They need to be filed out of necessity rather than convenience.
I'm opposed to early voting, but the genie's out of the bottle. I say Georgia goes to one week prior of early voting, strict voter ID, and election ink on the finger & the cuticle.

my first thought on this issue has always been “a reasonably-long early voting period should obviate the need for mail in ballots.“ But then, I think a bit deeper. Trumpettes should try it, too.
What about our military personnel, serving overseas? What about American expatriates residing atbroad? Do we really want to deprive these people of the franchise?
Glitches need to be fixed, but I do not think that completed termination of mail in ballots is the answer.

What is the system there now? My county in Alabama started scanning your driver's license this election. Previously they just looked at your license and marked your name off a computer pintout list.

This. Only morons don’t early vote. Now, the mail in shite needs to stop.

How is my showing up to vote early, showing my ID, and using what I have to assume are the same machines used on Election Day inclined towards frickery?
Early votes were literally the first results released from Louisiana on election night.

This stupid thread again? Republicans love to take away people’s rights.
My daughter is in college out of state. Does she have a right to vote? Yes she does. She used a mail in absentee ballot. My brother in law is on a work assignment out of state. Does he have a right to vote? Yes he does. Absentee ballot.
Sometimes the absolute lack of rational thought on the right wing is so stunning that it makes you all seem almost dangerous. Turn off right wing propaganda sources and the fog will eventually clear.

No one is arguing against absentee voting, I hope. However, early voting not categorized as absentee voting should be eliminated. Too much funny business is associated with it.

I pulled out my IF tonshiw when I was signing in in Cali and was told no ID was needed to vote. Nothing could go wrong there.

just have them cast votes on a laptop with a video of them casting each vote and a fingerprint to access the program

Also, change election day voting to a Saturday when most people are off.
Posted on 11/12/18 at 6:39 am to AggieHank86
The longer the time period for voting and the varied ways of voting lends itself to “Voting frickery”.

Anything that lessens the opportunity for democrats to perform voter fraud will be labeled voter suppression as democrats shout foul
