I, for one, think this could help out future Republican performance in Texas. It would also bolster the economy a little bit.

We need to take this issue from the dems.

No question we should legalize it.

Weed is anti republican/Christian... dems have been advocating for years it’s legalization... if you support it you are a progressive... as in you support progress

TX economy is booming! Why do you think so many are moving to TX from all over, many from Louisiana. The Houston area gets 165 new people moving to the area every day.

Would support it. I think it would help with support for Republicans some as well but probably not substantially. I don’t see it happening any time in the near future though

Austin and Houston significantly reduced the penalties for personal use and I remember a lot of backlash then from Republicans in the state.

I dont find there to be many anti-marijuana among younger conservatives...just for the record.

The black market would continue to thrive because the taxes and regulations would make legal prices skyrocket.

Bums would flock and lots of people would be unable to get gainful employment, erroneously thinking legalization equated to no more pre-employment drug screening.

The legalization of weed was one of the major reasons that turnout was so high in Texas yesterday.

I'm 100% on board. This is probably my biggest obstacle with voting for a lot of republicans so I think it would be good for the Texas staying red. No one is going to switch to Blue because they were anti-legalization while the replublican party got on board

Substantively, it is not a particularly important issue, but it is the right thing to do from a libertarian perspective.

I do not see it as being a "vote-deciding" issue for more than a tiny minority of voters.

Let’s do it.

A lot of the younger Beto voters would switch red in a heartbeat.

It's such a low priority for me I couldn't care less except for the fact that there are a lot of idiot 1 issue voters that only care about legalization. This is coming from somebody who buys it illegally I would like to see the Rs add it to the platform.

Wrong. Over half of republicans support its legalization now and democrats have only jumped on that train mostly recently anyway. Much like gay marriage. But the pro illegal immigrant stance is pretty unique, so you’ve got that going for you. That and socialism.
