Is gentrification in Nola dying?

Crime has all but killed St. Roch gentrification and OC Haley is a ghost town. The only areas that seem to be improving are Leonidas, Treme and Gentilly. Far cry from the improvements that were happening a few years ago.

It's in a coma after some blunt force trauma in a failed armed robbery attempt. But it might pull through.

It's kinda sad commentary on your city, and even the state somewhat, when things are so pathetic that gentrifiers get run off. Normally they move on to new grounds, not retreat to the safe and predictable.
ETA- why the downvotes? I like New Orleans, just think the leadership isn't moving this place forward

Ever see OC Haley about 7 years ago?

OC Haley looks a lot nicer but everything around it is still shite.

Well that’s just NOLA. Much of it looks like shite.

Number 1 reason for the blight in any city across the US, not just New Orleans.
Even more so than a bad economy.

All the hipsters got old and settled down on the northshore.

I mean, in a roundabout way, yeah. You could say it’s sort of a chicken or the egg deal, though, I suppose.

It's not the hipster liberal transplants this dude is talking about

It’s all cyclical. Suburbanization is the national trend currently.

I think you're missing what I'm saying. New Orleans wasn't ruined by transplant liberal hipsters
It's been ruined by generations of dysfunction

The bumpkins on here don’t like things they don’t understand so will cheer people who fall into that category being beaten or murdered. Many of these people also claim to be Christian
