Wife and I were just we wish there was a North Florida and a South Florida state

Different as night and day north and south of Gainesville except for liberal shithole state capital Tallahassee

Don’t need Gillum

False. I posted a link yesterday that showed 66,800+ more Republicans had voted than Dims in the Florida early election.

You got some hard data on that? Scott was polling better than Nelson with PRs earlier this year.

Also, last I read, the numbers indicated that many of the PRs re-settling because of Maria were not registering to vote.

I'm not really as optimistic about these numbers as OP is.

Josh, do you really think ED margin for GOP will come close to 2016?

DeSantis is definitely a weaker candidate than Scott. I sure hope they both pull it off.

Agreed but I can’t see someone casting a vote for Scott but not DeSantis. I think both win or lose together.

No. The OP is reporting official data, updated today, by the Florida Department is Elections.

Ds has 87,570 advantage on early voting and 24,523 advantage when you include mail-in ballots.

I'm curious how Hurricane Michael is affecting voter turnout in SW Florida? Hope all those folks have been accommodated and were or are able to vote. Lots of red in those areas. Reply

Southwest Florida was fine. It was more the big bend, eastern panhandle into northern Florida.

Pretty sparsly populated areas that got really hit. They’re rebuilding.

Will be at my polling center here in Pinellas Co. at 7AM. Curious to see if the line has the same energy as 2016.

Do you think there is any chance of Pinellas County voting Christ out of his congress seat ? It looks like he has a lot more money then his opponent. It almost seems like republicans gave up on the seat.

I have a hard time believing any republicans vote for Gillum but I think some democrats could vote for Desantis because Gillum is yo far left for them . Gillum knows he is to far left and playing the voters to get votes . It’s hard to believe there is enough brain dead in Florida to vote Gillum into office .

I don’t think Buck wins that race unless a lot of people just straight up vote “R”. Crists’ carrries weight and sometimes that’s enough to get the box checked.

I have seen a lot of Gillum signs in actual yards. Blows my mind.

Big unanswered question is how the independents vote.

Gillum leads DeSantis with likely voters who are independents (57 percent to 37 percent)

Similarly, Nelson leads Scott with independents (55 percent to 37 percent)

NBC/Marist

Nelson leads 54 - 41 percent among independent voters and 91 - 4 percent among Democrats. Republicans back Scott 94 - 4 percent;

Gillum leads 52 - 39 percent among independent voters and 93 - 4 percent among Democrats, as Republicans back DeSantis 93 - 4 percent.

Quinnipiac

quote:

Independent Voter - 716 responses
DeSantis: 38.3% Gillum: 52.5% Richardson: 3.2% Undecided: 6.0%

quote:

Independent Voter - 716 responses
Scott: 40.6% Nelson: 51.8% Undecided: 7.5%

St Pete Polls

Looks like a steady D advantage with Independents in the cross-tabs I could find.
