if CAR/NO has division title or home field implications in it... that'll be the SNF game for week 17
I'm fairly certain there is no SNF or MNF on Week 17.

Love the 3:25 game. Extra time to get down to the city and eat. Less of a rush in the morning getting down there.

I also imagine Week 17 Panthers vs Saints gets flexed to 3:25

It will probably be a huge game, but I hope that it isn't. It'd be nice going into week 17 with nothing to play for with the #1 seed and the division wrapped up.

I'm also pretty sure every game is at noon week 17. Otherwise teams playing later know whether they need to win or not and could rest players.

Thats 5 of the last 7 games that will be nationally televised games.

You're partially right. There are 3 late games. The entire NFC west plays in the second slot and the Chargers and Broncos play late. It's interesting that the game with the Raiders and Chiefs in KC is at noon. That seems against the whole scheduling plan of avoiding knowledge of results before your game.

I mean, is a 7 hour difference really going to matter?

There is no SNF on Week 17

This isn't true

There is no MNF... that is correct

However... if there is a game where everything hinges on that 1 result... the NFL & NBC can flex it to SNF and show it in primetime

last season there was no game like that and the NFL canned SNF b/c of competitive advantage

if Panthers @ Saints is a winner-take-all division championship game... it'll get flexed to SNF

In Week 17, in order to ensure a Sunday night game with playoff implications, the decision to move the start time may be made on six days notice.

You are partially correct, there is no MNF on week 17 which has been that way forever. But last season was the first season not to have a sunday night game.
quote:

The NFL has finalized its schedule for Week 17, eliminating the Sunday night game so as to ensure that all matchups with playoff implications that affect one another will be played at the same time. The last time the NFL regular season didn't end with a night game, either on Sunday or Monday, was in 1977 -- the last season with a 14-game schedule. The last time the final NFL Sunday fell on New Year's Eve was 2006.

The actual week 17 schedule as it relates to kickoff times will look a hell of a lot different the Monday before gameday than it looks right now

games that week will get flexed all over the place depending on how each match-up impacts potential playoff standings... including any potential winner-take-all game getting moved to SNF (where there currently isn't a game scheduled)
