As long as they didn't overpay on a long term deal I'm ok with it.

I hope he doesn't lose anymore velocity. Being crafty and locating can only compensate so much.

Decent deal for the Dodgers.

If a team were to give him over $100 million and multiple years, they would be gambling big time with his velocity drop and injury history.

It feels like a huge overpay but they have Buehler who will be an ace going forward. I think Kershaw can still be a good pitcher if his velocity tops at around 89.

His team is pretty stacked and that fastball falling off gave him plenty of reason to not want to test the waters. At least he'll have opportunities to make up for postseason failures.

Olney says Kershaw is likely a Dodger for life. Even though he’ll only be 33 when his deal is up.

I'm not saying Kershaw can't still be successful. It just won't be as easy for him with a 90mph fastball

Pitchers play 1 in 5 so it’s not 162 for them

yep

That's the wager.
I think it proves a bad deal for Dodgers.
My thinking is based on.him being high end and then injured.

I believe he knows how not to need surgery and 90 mph happens.

I bet for $100 million tax free he could throw 5 out of 10 pitches 94.

For him to be worth this deal he has to show up in February with a knuckle ball. Something out of Disney. 88 is not going to cut it unless his slow stuff is special.
