damaged "beyond repair" LINK
Over a billion in losses.I also heard the number is closer to 17 on Hugh Hewitt.
Youd think the hangers would've been built a little stronger that close to hurricane territory.

Yikes that's shitty mission capable rates.

You mean Tyndall
The entire base is basically unlivable or usable
MacDill is in Tampa

You’d think they’d fly them out of the way of the hurricane.

You'd think they would not have 12 aircraft incapable of flight... Someone's head will roll over this, as it should...
On a side note, I would not be surprised if there was not a push to close Tyndall...

If only there was some way to have removed them from there ahead of time. If only they had wings and could simply fly away.

No shite sherlock... So explain to me why they were not cleared then... NMC is NMC regardless of the type of tag hung...

Hasn’t the big complaint on the F22 been that the amount of maintenance it requires is insanely high compared to the fighters it is replacing?
This seems to back that up if they couldn’t do rush jobs to get a few of these flyable to move inland before the hurricane hit.

Nice excuse but you do realize people can be flown in to clear house right? I have seen it, it happens... Piss poor preparation is the only excuse here...

The melt over the damage to these planes is ridiculous. Original reports were "total loss" but that has since been debunked.

quote:Negative, we flushed the fleet from Shaw AFB back in the days of Hugo of 89 aircraft we got 84 F-16s flushed inland, there are plans in place. This is a bad look for the F-22 no way to spin it.

During Andrew Shaw and Moody's ramps were filled with Vipers from down south, I think three Vipers were incapable of flight at Homestead.

Most of the time, parts don't come in on a daily basis. If aircraft was fixed, they would have flown out of there.

Look, they moved what they could as quickly as they could given the time frame. We are talking about a storm that went from 50% development at all to a cat 4 in less than 5 days. shite is going to get fricked up. Relax.
