Maybe it's not Mack Brown but it's the horn nation who...

are turning a lot of the Texas elite recruits away from UT.
I was just reading some threads on shaggybevo.com and was shocked at what I read.
One guy said "In my HS, there were three levels of classes - Retard, Regular and Advanced/AP. OU students came from the middle of the Regular group. Sure, elite football players probably average at the bottom of the Regular group or the top of the Retard group..." and "OU is more hospitable to dumbass football players because people generally prefer to be surrounded by their own kind (i.e., dumbasses enjoy the company of dumbasses)." Just read this piece of crap from another poster "Are all football players dumbasses? No, but most D-1 players should be nowhere near a classroom of a university the caliber of Texas."
Are most UT posters like this?
If they are then I say keep up the good work on recruiting because this is what will continue to happen to UT as one wise poster stated "I really had high expectations for this class. I thought this would be a top 5 if not the number 1 class this year. It's been a little disappointing though. Don't get me wrong, i love the guys we have, but we keep missing out on the elite players. Last year we missed out on the top 3 guys and this year it looks like we lose McFarland, Sheppard, Loston, Brent. We can't keep losing half of these top 5 players. These are the difference makers, the leaders. Mack needs to make sure we can land Jeffcoat and Seastrunk next year. I would hate for us to lose them to LSU or ou." or this "it would be cool snag the top defensive player (McFarland) in the country before he gets to hear and see Baton Rouge on gamenight."
That's why Mack pushes for early commitments because they are afraid of their top recruits attending a LSU game on Saturday Night thus losing them to LSU.
That's MO how about what you think?

living in Texas and having a brother who attends UT i know this for a fact. In Austin most everyone there thinks they are better then what they are. they think that all of texas is a shite hole except Austin they also think that there university is the best on in the country (in many ways it is) and that no one with a GPA below a 4.0 should be allowed in.
so i say keep up the work austin. your only screwing yourself over (:

No, his strategy is solid. You fill your class mostly with in-state kids that definitely want to be there and save a few schollies to go after the top in state and nationally. It's really not complicated. Sometimes you lose. A few years ago the Texas image was sky-high. Now it seems to be down. It fluctuates.

It seems to be fool proof, oh wait.

quote:yes, and its sickening. i like UT, they are a distant #2 for me, but a cant get near their board b/c they believe its the birthplace of civilization. everything is "we're texas!" thats an answer you get to half your questions. and when it doesnt work out for them, they play the "our school is ivy-league-comparable" card, and you live in a swamp/farm/shite hole line

whorn fans are horrible

Then we agree that he is afraid to let the kids see real football fans like LSU or OSU before forcing them to commit. I guess his stance is they don't know what they are missing because they won't get to experienc LSU at night. Tiger fans are the best on gameday with OSU second.

The arrogance that is UT is really catching up with them these days

The best part is they aren't even the first UT but a copy cat UT. Just ask the real UT fans from Tennessee.

I love how OU and LSU come in and take their best players and leave the scrap leftovers for A@M, UT, and Tex tech. What bitches they are to let us do that.

They've got nothing on the gumps.

Read Orangebloods for one week and you will be met with more eltitist, "We're better than everyone at everything" mentality than you wish to hear in a lifetime. And they average about three negative LSU threads a day and attempt to dismiss all reason when convincing themselves that an offer to a quarterback recruit points to our lying to Shep. They don't even hold the notion that this offer could have been given two months ago. They have some seriously stupid folks on there.

UT fans, students, and alumni are, by far, the most blatant and unapologetically ARROGANT asses that I've ever had the dis-pleasure of coming across...especially when it comes to LSU.
In fact, I've found that this general premise applies to the entire state of Texas when it comes to the entire state of Louisiana...not just the schools. Most Texans are raised by their Texan parents to think that they live in the best place on the entire planet, and that there is nothing worth a damn anywhere other than in Texas.

UT has the most arrogant fanbase, by far. Followed by Ole Piss and Bama, which seems odd since they suck like a black hole. The sense of entitlement they have in Austin is nauseating.

Most of you have probably never been to Texas and/or Austin. Most of you are basing this on Orangebloods.com, which is stupid.
