Counter flow all lanes of Nicholson. Use busses to go to drop off areas. Close the east upper and move those season ticket holders down to replace those in the lower bowl that don’t show up or leave at half time.

You can create the perfect contraflow system but when all of the traffic signals on the outskirts of LSU (Stanford, Perkins, Burbank, Dalrymple) are running on their normal cycles there's no where for people to go.

Take away Corp tickets to 50% of Corp tickets. Reduce stadium seating to about 85-90K. Build several 3 story parking garages south of campus.

They won't do any of this due to money.

So, live with the horrible traffic/parking and early fan departure.

Part of the problem is that most people are going east or south from the stadium.... thus you have everyone going in only 2 directions....most people going north are going across the bridge and Nicholson drive is bumper to bumper...you can't go west because of the river
I park North of the stadium and cut through the neighborhoods and hit highland road...highland is pretty empty heading north....then I cut through Beauregard town and head to Spanish town....after I get to my car I'm usually home in 10-15 minutes....the only real problem is trying to cross govt. street
I think a lot of the problem with moving the traffic east and South is poor management of the police in getting people thru intersections and on the interstate....they could do a better job

Move Tiger Stadium to the Houston or Dallas area where new infrastructure is continuously being done.

Didn't mind parking off campus and walking. Nice wide sidewalks on campus. But as soon as you leave campus, very poor sidewalks on Nicholson or none at all. Had to dodge the mud and oncoming traffic. Would be nice for the city to install decent sidewalks to meet up with the ones on campus.

the problem is, parking and traffic are now over regulated. The police and contraflow design actually make the problem worse. Back in 03-04, I would be willing to bet that there were about 25K more people tailgating on gamedays because you could literally park anywhere (as long as it wasn't on an oak root) and throw a tent up. LSU put an end to this because they realized how much money they could make for charging to park in these areas. And, now that those areas are no longer free parking, more police have to be there to regulate those areas. I feel like the traffic back in 03-04 wasn't nearly as bad as it is now, and people actually stayed until the ends of games then!

Parking lots near levee use to flow traffic both lanes towards the bridge. Now they re-route you 10 miles in the opposite direction. Who decided that crap?

Borrow the plaquemine ferries on Saturday night after game (ferry closed by then) and use them to shuttle people across the Mississippi to a lot in port Allen. With 2 ferries going back and forth only carrying people. Should be able to move a great deal of people out quickly. Just have to increase the number of life vests on board and find a place for an empty lot. Charge money to park to pay for ferries and workers.

Stop herding people over to the Nicholson corridor and open campus back up on game day.

Ole Miss has this and it works great. Of course you’re talking about a crowd half the size but it’s also a much smaller town with Tighter roads

More public transportation that’s easy to use and some off campus parking that’s free or cheap and secure
Use frequent buses with HOV lanes to bring people in
Also make technology work for you use some real-time apps to show routing and traffic flow to give visitors or newcomers an idea of the best routes out. Maybe even some geofencing for Tiger stadium that can show traffic so people can get an idea before leaving for their cars.
But it’s still gonna be congested
