I can’t wait to see this movie.

That’s why they call it acting...
But I have read something where she said she’s extremely self conscious about how she looks, hence all they crazy makeup and costumes all the time. Which is why Cooper didn’t let her wear any makeup for the movie

There is a scene when Cooper asks why she hasn’t made it as a singer yet. She says she was told by the higher ups that she didn’t have a good nose to be a star. Cooper really made her take her defenses down as a director, because she is extremely self conscious.

In many ways she's still an actress even when she was just singing. Its just Lady Gaga is the character she plays. Stefani Germanotta studied method acting for years before her team created the Lady Gaga character.
I know, it sounds odd that Lady Gaga might be shy in real life but I've known, as an example, a few strippers who are nothing in real life like they are when they are stripping. They can safely step into a persona and be that person for a few hours and then go back to their normal life.

I'll likely never see this movie.
Saw the Mason/Garland version as a kid and it was horrible.
Saw the Streisand/Kristofferson version in college and it sucked donkey balls.
This one can only be worse IMHO. Not even going to give it a chance. Would rather watch The Color Purple voiced over in Spanish and dubbed in Russian.

Trailer looks great but I've seen the trailer 3 times now everytime this thread pops up and am now worried Cooper's voice is going to grate on me over two hours ala Jeff Bridges in True Grit as I am already sort of sick of it after 6 minutes of trailers.

It’s amazing to me that after all this time people still think Lady Gaga is just another Britney Spears or “flavor of the month” type singer.

That's all fine & dandy, but after years of Pokerface type-crap, it's perfectly reasonable that the general public can't see through the cheap branding and see a mature talent.
