So get a big lead. Put the backups in. They will be excited about getting play time, even if it’s just mop up duty. People will stay to watch that.
To be honest, I don't think they would. We've had big leads before at half. It's our fan culture now and has been for a number of years now. It's weird and I don't quite understand it, but many come for one half or maybe 3 quarters unless it's Bama or some highly ranked team.

Times have changed. When the stadium held 80,000-92,000, tickets were harder to get and you didn't want to leave knowing it may be weeks before you could get those tickets again. It's miserably humid and hot and television has turned a 60-minute contest into nearly four hours of football. Stadium food prices are extraordinarily expensive, I've heard many people complain that they can't have common conversation because the music is too loud and then there's the Baton Rouge traffic. A freaking nightmare. And all up and this is what you get. It's a nationwide problem.

I think the problem, as some have pointed out, is it's become too expensive and too much of a hassle with parking changes and nickel and diming fans to where they would rather stay home. Has nothing to do with the team itself or the opponents scheduled.
I'm 34 and spent nearly every Saturday in fall with my parents in Tiger Stadium growing up. That place was rocking even against shite non conference teams like Idaho or UAB. So level of competition isn't a factor in my opinion.
Another thing to take into consideration is a lot of the older season ticket holders probably don't have the energy to go quite as much and their kids probably can't afford to take over for them. In fact probably a lot of young people can't afford season ticket prices and the fees that accompany them and just decide to spend their money on other things that are probably more fun for less money and doesn't take up your entire day. Thing is not a lot of those families are going to give up their tickets immediately, hoping they can pass them on to someone else eventually.
We're sort of in that position right now. My folks can't make it too all the games anymore. I'm not in a position where taking over really makes sense financially right now. This year we sold them to a friend.

I'm supporting my team regardless of who they struggle with, their record, or who coaches these TIGERS. Don't be a fair weather bitch. If you can't support this team through good and bad I'm sure Bama will accept you, because we don't want you.

Yep.
Cultural problem that started under Les Miles that will never be reversed in this modern world of HD television.

Still 4-0... #6... that should be enough but Tiger fans are tired of crap offense. Until they start producing an offense that’s entertaining it won’t get better. Ranking or no ranking. How Alleva didn’t see that Baton Rouge needed offense is beyond me.

When the #6 team in the country is playing a JV team and are up 24 points you expect them to take care of business. Everyone left and the coaches diddlefricked around and didn't go for the jugular run play after run play,RUN IT THE FRICK UP AND GET THE STARTERS OUT OF THE GAME nobody wants to watch us go 3 and out to LA fricking Tech. We know what our team is capable of and we severely under achieve and play down to our opponents every-time during these games. Maybe people would stay if we didn't go into chew clock mode in the 2nd quarter with all the pitiful play calls
I disagree. I was watching the Oklahoma/Army game last night and Army racked up more yards than the Sooners and pushed them to overtime. The Oklahoma crowd was loud and cheered the Sooners till the end and did not leave.

It's so much better to watch at home on TV with the A/C kicking and beer in hand.

I remember plenty games in the late 90’s and 2000’s just like tonight and the stadium emptied out before halftime.
It has always been an issue.

What are you supporting? A team that struggles with tech?

LSU fans can not wait to get out of Tiger stadium. They really aren’t fans.

Most of these new fans suck

Let the band play Neck during 4th Quarters and I’ll hang around.

I will take a moment to praise the UK fans though. Packed house and stayed even though it was raining like a mad cow pissing on a flat rock.
Trust me. . . That was an extremely rare thing for UK fans to do. Rarely is that stadium even full. On top of that, Kentucky fans will leave a live ball game in droves to go watch their first basketball practice of a season!

I have Saints season tickets and the Dome doesn't empty out like Tiger Stadium. Both La fanbases, but each opponent is an NFL quality opponent and the traffic in and out of the game is a breeze.
many fans walking back to the FQ plus a ton of routes away from the dome help that out. It feels like 80% of TS needs to use Nicholson Dr.

It is embarrassing that 1/3 of the season ticket holders go home at half time. That is the TV shot that everyone sees.

People blame corporate tickets being the problem. Who do you think works for the corporations in Louisiana?
