This has been happening for years. LSU raised donations so much only the guppies can go to the games. The type of people that take a picture of themselves and put it on Facebook.. Aww look at me im at the LSU game. Makes me sick they cut out the true fans!

Buy tickets and go to the game. Put your money and time where your mouth is at.

Many of you bitching about the atmosphere literally do nothing to change it besides sit there and yell at your TV or talk shite on a message board.

Meanwhile, people like me (who leave at halftime for non-conference games that we are winning by 3 TDs) are the ones actually supporting this team with our pocket books. Not only are most of us Alumni, we are also season ticket holders year after year. What have you actually done for LSU?

Ask yourself that question before you judge the real fans next time.

I hope the admins anchor this stupid thread so we don’t have to see anymore of y’all bitching about the real fans who financially support LSU.

Why do the fans leave?
It's got to be the boring opponents and the concern about traffic after the game. I have Saints season tickets and the Dome doesn't empty out like Tiger Stadium. Both La fanbases, but each opponent is an NFL quality opponent and the traffic in and out of the game is a breeze. I can hit the Causeway 30 minutes after stepping out of the Superdome including my walk back to the garage.

Offensive Line problems baw! Seems to me LSU doesn't have enough depth of experienced players in the O/L to maintain momentum. Notice the letdown when Brumfield got hurt. I mean go back and review the game after he got injured. I mean the wind was taken out of LSU.

I believe Gregg has done a great job patching up this O/L. It's just that LSU doesn't have the quality depth there. I mean many folks expressed concern about the O/L before the season. Hopefully when (and if) Saahdiq Charles and Adrian Magee come back we might see some major improvement in those positions. I certainly hope so.

It’s not about the fans that don’t go to a game. It’s about the ones that go and decide to leave early. Why go to the game at all if you are gone at halftime? I have stayed to the end on every game I have ever had the pleasure to attend whether it was a blowout or a nail biter. The stadium was full tonight to start the game but when the team needed them most to get things going they were nowhere to be found.

Ok I concede....the real fans leave at halftime and embarrass the Tigers....so OP is right ...DV has died, because of "the real fans"

It’s fricking frustrating how corporate things have become.

i'm not saying I would do anything different if I was in charge because it's the way college football has been going for awhile. but your statement is right on. the atmosphere is dying and only shows up for big games. very much like professional sports.

The fans were headed to the exits when LSU led by 24. No other fan base in the country floods out of the stadium like LSU does.

I agree, but why? Traffic?...I know I've gone to tons of games and left to see a good way out. Next week I go that route and it's changed.

There has to be an answer.

LSU should have never increased the size of the stadium without updating the older sections.

I see this posted often, and I can't get on board with it. The South Endzone expansion was club seats with an upper deck slapped on top, and even that area was made into the Skyline Club. Premium seats can still compete with the couch because the experience outstrips the hassles of attending these less attractive games. These expansion arguments are for the late arrivals to the stadium capacity arms race; for example, Alabama is converting their true nosebleed endzone seats into new scoreboards and a premium area.

You want people in the stands until the end? Lower the price of tickets and food and drinks in the stadium and find some way to fix the fricking traffic after the game.

Football is a game of emotion. Players feed off the emotion of the fans, both good and bad. When LSU plays at home, they should be able to feed that emotion off of our fans. Not to mention, if the stadium is packed and the fans stay, TS becomes a difficult place to play.

Man you are really spun up about this. Say what you will but other teams' season ticket holders dont pay their money to watch one half of football. You can get all sensitive if you want but facts are facts. The stadium emptying out hurts the team. No matter who spends their money the OP is correct. Death Valley is dead or dying...and the ticket holders who leave at halftime are part of that. Fan base has lost its passion.

I will take a moment to praise the UK fans though. Packed house and stayed even though it was raining like a mad cow pissing on a flat rock.

When the #6 team in the country is playing a JV team and are up 24 points you expect them to take care of business. Everyone left and the coaches diddlefricked around and didn't go for the jugular run play after run play,RUN IT THE FRICK UP AND GET THE STARTERS OUT OF THE GAME nobody wants to watch us go 3 and out to LA fricking Tech. We know what our team is capable of and we severely under achieve and play down to our opponents every-time during these games. Maybe people would stay if we didn't go into chew clock mode in the 2nd quarter with all the pitiful play calls

This.

People will stay if you run up the score and put in backups.

If we had been up 40 to 0 by halftime (something we are very capable of doing) and then put in back ups, people would stay to see how next years starters are going to do. People would stay and cheer for Brennan if he got some significant play time.

Nobody wants to see starters out there going half speed and not really giving a shite. (I don’t necessarily blame the starters for that. It’s hard to stay excited for hours in a game when you obviously outmatch your opponents skills. You get.... bored).

So get a big lead. Put the backups in. They will be excited about getting play time, even if it’s just mop up duty. People will stay to watch that.
