No Symphony of the Night, no Dual Shock, no deal.

Save FFVII, lineup is weak.

LINK

Just give me SSX Tricky remastered for PS4 and call it a day.

Seems cool, but aren't they limiting themselves with no dual shock?

Because they announced it in the middle of the night. My twitter feed was all about this when I woke up and I wondered if I had missed something yesterday.

no Dual Shock

For something that size and that price, that's asking a lot.

lineup is weak

Did they announce the full lineup? I can't open the link.

I honestly have no nostalgia for the PS1, or at least not enough to want this for $100. PS1 graphics really don't hold up, and I would be hard pressed to go back to no dual analog.

ETA Still seeing they only announced 5 games. Tekken 3 is a good one.

My PS1 memories revolve around Crash Bandicoot, MGS, Medal of Honor, and sports/racing games so the Playstation Classic isn't for me. No worries though, I still have my PS1.

Meh. You can get a PSP with custom firmware or a modded PS1 for less than that.

IMO those games don't hold up well.

The only one I really still emulate is Crash and FFVII.

Considering that most quality PS1 games have been ported to PSP, Vita, and PS3, it not other platforms as well, it kind of limits the appeal to me.

Most of the stuff I’d be interested in, I already have for pennies from the Sony store, like RPGs (Persona, FF7, Wild Arms, Suikoden) and a lot of the survival horror stuff like Resident Evil 1-3.

About the only game I can think of I’d want and don’t have is Metal Gear Solid 1 and the Twin Snakes version for GameCube is better anyway.

If there is no MGS1, Silent Hill 1, Medievil, RE1-3, or Symphony of the Night; not buying.

The PS1 just doesn't hold up at all.

PS2 is a different story though. That would potentially be an instabuy with the right games available.

Outside of being the primo RPG system of its era, the PS1 lineup was sorta underwhelming IMO.

You got the first three Resident Evil games, MGS, and Castlevania SotN, but not many other timeless classics.

It had a bunch of good sports and racing games too for it's time, for people who liked those.

And yes, as someone who plays tons of retro games, the early 3D games hold up the least. 2D games still look and play beautifully. The early 3D games take much longer to get used to. Eventually you do but the initial camera and controls and stuff are very off-putting at first.

I have both an NES classic and a SNES classic sitting unopened in a box. I have no clue when or where I would ever use them. These are almost useless to those that like really playing games.

Just pre-ordered the playstation one at best buy

So many better ways to play PSX games using dual shock and having access to the entire library.

The PSX emulator on my Nvidia Shields and laptop have filters that make the PSX games a lot easier on the eyes.

I grew up a HUGE PS fan back in the day but honestly the graphics just did not age well, the filters make these old gems much more enjoyable.
