Titans paid millions to terminate Aramark contract last year

Aramark is the TS concessions vendor. Sound familiar?

The Tennesse Titans are not happy with Aramark. Amid complaints of cold food in the premium suites and the sale of alcohol to minors, the Titans have ended their contract with Aramark and are willing to pay millions to finalize the divorce.
Consultants with Food Service Matters reported a pattern of poor food quality, inadequate staffing within general concession areas that caused long lines, chronic food presentation issues in the club-level, and a “general lack of differentiation” between premium and general concessions areas,” according to the Tennessean.
After the Nov. 13 Packers-Titans game, Titans CEO and President Steve Underwood sent a notice of default to Aramark saying “it would be laughable” to describe the concession services by the adjectives used in Aramark’s contract — “first-class,” “professional,” “businesslike.”
“As you can well imagine, neither we nor our suite holders — who rank among our most valued patrons — are laughing,” Underwood wrote.
In 2014, the Titans hired Aramark to replace Centerplate and Aramak officials challenged the termination in Davidson County Chancery Court, but Chancellor Bill Young denied the company’s request last week for a temporary injunction. Both sides have agreed to arbitration proceedings.
The Titans will pay $7.2 million to terminate the contract, which partially repays Aramark for $14 million invested in the stadium since 2014.

Everything I've read about them is Horrible. Of course that's who alleva choses to roll with.

They have ads on Indeed year round in BR..same slots go unfilled..advertsiing on sports radio for positions with but a week to go before season starts,..etc..
If you think they are willing to botch an NFL team's suites and stadium services in a Fortune 500 rich state like Tenn..where do you think they prioritize a college team like LSU in a 48th to 50th ranked state?
Nothing more than a pimp temp service for food slinging..and half @ssed at that.

Here in Ruston, not only does the contract suck with Louisiana Tech but they frick it up for any other kind of event the city tries to hold on campus.

I'd rather lick the back door of a pogie boat than eat that shite

I'm willing to bet that Aramark provides food services to the entire university and that choice is above Alleva's paygrade. But I agree, they do suck

I mean how do you frick up nachos and hot dogs? You have to be on an elite level of not giving a frick.

Chartwells has the LSU Dining contract and has had it for 15+ years.

Aramark is garbage in all aspects of their business.

Aramark was the cheapest vendor I’m sure. Alleva is getting what he paid for.
Keep treating the fans like dog shite, and dog shite support for the program is what you’ll get in return.

And they had sporting events until last year and it was glorious. Despite the “improvements”, there was still only one worker taking orders despite 3 registers, a staff of workers who appeared to have ZERO training, and a concession stand under my seats, once filled bountiful choices including Manda dog, now reduced to serving nothing but drinks and nachos.

Do you really think LSU is paying Aramark?
Posted on 9/11/18 at 3:46 am to prplhze2000
I had a swamp sausage, nachos and jambalaya. Everything was crappy but it’s what you get at big events. Order taker was fabulous and huge upgrade from last year. North Endzone east side.

You'd be wrong. The contract only references athletic venues.

I think this needs to be done.
But great job, Alleva.
We’d be paying untold millions to multiple coaches not to coach ... and to Aramark not to vend.
If he follows his usual pattern in dealing with poor coaching/results, Alleva extends Aramark.

What about the food quality for the slobs who sit in the arena? Do they not matter?

The south stadium club food and service is a complete joke.

Beautiful part about it- the king of handing out lucrative buyouts won’t get one. He truly is one of the worst negotiators I’ve ever seen.
