Nine people hoping to work LSU game arrested on warrants

Per The Advocate:
Nine people hoping to work the LSU Football Game arrested
This frustrates me.
1. The Advocate doesn't tell us what the warrants were for
2. If they were non-violent, particularly traffic warrants, why not make them sign-over their day's pay to be put towards outstanding fines and get an updated court date and take a photocopy of their ID/Address(obviously have this to get the job)?
NOT Well-Played by Law Enforcement when working people are booked for warrants(if they are for traffic and/or possession charges)

Parish Prison booking records indicated LSU police had arrested nine people on outstanding warrants Saturday afternoon and evening. Three were from New Orleans, one from Baker and the rest from Baton Rouge, according to booking records.

They basically trapped them by having the background check in person at the stadium with police right there

Tired of trying to put your staffing puzzle together?

I'll be the first to admit that Security staffing company(won't mention) has some shady arse employees working for them. We really notice them at Alex Box but also at the Dome last year for BYU game and BCSF, but it's honest work and I hate to see that deprived of anyone who's not a threat to the community.

Trapped. . . into paying their debt to society.

didn't we used to use prisoners to clean up the grounds the day after the game?

Make them frickers pay for sure. But if these were petty shite like Traffic warrants(no idea yet), I'm rightfully pissed as a taxpayer.

I saw this on the news. I was halfass paying attention, but it seems like the report said something like "police arrested 9 people while doing a check on people who were looking to be 3rd party vendors".
It sounded kind of... lacking information. And was kind of confused when I heard the report.

had this conversation with a friend walking back to the car from the dome. people standing around holding signs for money and 2 guys playing drums on makeshift drum kits. I said. i'd give those 2 guys money before the sign holders every time. At least they are doing something.

We still do. I jogged through campus at 730 am yesterday and there were several groups ~30 or so I saw cleaning up around campus.
And yes, if these were federal/serious charges then the Title can be changed to chastise The Advocate for not giving us more information and just running with half-shite as usual.

This feels sort of like someone complaining their house cleaner or lawn man got deported.

You're why we can't have nice things. I don't want the thread whacked for calling out a legit business. Goober.

I worked a concession stand ONCE last year for my daughters school fundraiser..We had to submit background checks a week ahead of time so they could be run properly..PD knew exactly what they were doing and its honestly pretty sad that they waited on these people to make an honest dollar

As for as I know they still do. I know after big games, those SOBs have their job cut out for them.

One good thing about Landmark is their employees don't give a frick. The old men "security" at the box used to look all over the bleachers trying to find someone with booze... Landmark people look like they don't even want to be there.

LSUPD does a warrant check on any prospective gameday worker. The warrants can vary, but if they have a warrant, they get booked.
Really? So the whole reason you have a warrant is because you were irresponsible and didn't handle your business in the first place. Why should that remain rewarded?
