That was just down right bad.

We had:
Salmon app
Brisket burger
Brisket sandwich
Pork belly hogie

The salmon tasted more like poached than smoked

Brisket burger was decent

Brisket sandwich was just shredded beef sandwich. Brisket supposed to be slabs.

The pork belly hogie was just BAD!!! It has greens on the sandwich. The greens were so bitter, it ruined it. They need to sweeten the greens to go with the pork belly (which was not tender at all).

Two of us had mac n cheese for sides. Did they just open a box of Kraft Mac n cheese and add bread crumbs on top?

Over all, I give it an F. Just horrible.

But FWIW, I don't think it's great either.

And to top it off....

I got the flying shits now (I know, TMI).

Good thing I didn't go to the game or a game party.

It figures, you ordered the worst things on their menu.

Next time get the egg rolls, wings, big pig and shrimp and boudin.

This is about the dumbest statement I've ever read about a restaurant.

There should not be "worst things on their menu".
If it's on the menu, it better be good, especially smoked items, since it is a smoke restaurant.

I appreciate your sentiment, but I eat at this restaurant frequently since it is right down the street from my office.

I have had most everything on their menu and the dishes you mentioned are the worst things on their menu IMHO.

Maybe we have similar tastes. I will admit, that I have not tried the salmon app though.

OK so what he had sucked so now he doesn't want to go back. It's pretty simple, you can't have something on the menu that's not worth a shite. If people get it and it's not good they're going to assume that is the quality of the restaurant.

or it is good and his taste buds just don't like it while someone else may think it is the best items they have

You don't understand what I'm saying. If it's not good, why keep it on the menu?

The salmon was decent, just not smoky enough for me. It had very little smoke flavor (like they smoked it for 10 mins in the kitchen, not in a smoker). The rest of the salmon tray was very good, fresh tasting. The chips were awesome, but I'm not sure they made those.

every restaurant has something or a couple somethings on the menu that not everyone will like. You mentioned the pork belly sandwich having bitter greens and firm textured meat...that sounds like I’d like it

the big pig is pretty generally well considered a top 10 sandwich in BR. city pork might not hit it out of the park on every dish but it is responsible in large part for the very recent improvement in casual dining options in town and I find it consistently enjoyable

It had potential, but the greens were a little too bitter and the belly just too tough. The bacon slab was on point tho.

If he doesn’t like what he got, then don’t go back.

I was just offering some suggestions of items I have enjoyed on their menu. I have ordered that brisket sandwich and didn’t like it, too. I didn’t keep me from going back and trying other things that I really enjoyed.

You can’t please all of the people all of the time, and I am sure that few restaurants have this as a goal.

Have you eaten at City Pork?

As I've already said in the thread, yes. Multiple times, and I think it's just OK at best.

Just curious, if you have eaten there multiple times and find it just okay, what keeps you going back?

That’s odd, in your first response to me, you didn’t appear to me to be a pushover.
