quote:Probably, which is why I'm thankful that I wasn't. It's why the Great Commission was a thing. Christians need to preach the Gospel in all parts of the world so it doesn't matter where you were born.
you would probably be a muslim if you were born in the middle east.

That, right there, is the very literal definition of the slippery slope. Just sayin.
No. It's beyond the slippery slope. Well fricking beyond it.

Has Islam impacted China more than America?
Not with the measures the Chinese government is using.
China is fairly homogeneous and very Communist. Taking such a hard-line stance against an enemy is part and parcel of how that country has always operated.
There is an attractive aspect to it in that taking such an avenue will definitely keep radical Islamists in check.
The problem we have here is we understand that actions like this can easily be a very slippery slope.

i wonder how many bodies have been stacked up from disease that christian missionaries carried to indigenous people because of this belief.

so it doesn't matter where you were born.
yes, because your god in his infinite wisdom decided to reveal himself in one small region of the world.

Why don't you start in China then?

Again
This isn't a slippery slope. It's objectively fricking terrible.

most of the PT doesn't care for religious freedom unless it is their specific religion.
They are in a communist country, the government is going to be their religion. Like Christians getting thrown in prison for preaching in muslim countries.
none of it's right but what the hell are we supposed to do about it? Go to war?
People are upset about 1 million people being mistreated while there are still 999 million people in china being mistreated.

I didn’t say you want communism. I said you are defending a communist regime doing communist things because they are doing it to people you don’t like. That doesn’t make you a communist, but it does make you a man without a semblance of principle. Which isn’t much better.
Could you please supply the quote where I did anything like this? It sounds a lot like you are projecting what you want to believe.
In the original post, I just supplied the original news story - without any comment whatsoever.
My only response was:
quote:
Well, I guess "white people" aren't so bad after all? Maybe you should direct your anger at communist China instead of the conservatives in the U.S.?
Which I stand by.
So my question is: Why you do push a complete and absolute lie?
All I've done (personally) in this thread is knock communism.

I'd say don't upvote the idea, defend it, or stupidly refer to something so obviously terrible as a "slippery slope" would be starters

Where is the y'all sky screamer? Yours was the second response. Aside from that it is a mental illness to demand someone change their thoughts to yours or die.

i wonder how many bodies have been stacked up from disease that christian missionaries carried to indigenous people because of this belief.
quote:To start... yes. That's why missionaries exist, hence why I mentioned the Great Commission (go throughout the world, preaching the Gospel).
yes, because your god in his infinite wisdom decided to reveal himself in one small region of the world.

To be clear, I was not advocating or supporting the idea of prison camps for Muslims. I was just putting this into factual perspective without an opinion. But like usual on this board I get a swell of downvotes and no dialog.

Only 3% of Chinese list religion as being important in their lives. By comparison, 53% of Americans do.
Imagine no Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses or other CJW's knocking on your door. No mega-wealthy televangelists broadcasting from mega-churches. No priests or pastors molesting your kids.
No tax-free religious country clubs. No private religious schools indoctrinating legions of children. No political movements clamoring for "muh religious freedoms."
Almost heaven.
